i've been patient not getting a 360...but it seems like incentives are increasing. When that price drops this fall, it will be hard to think of any more excuses not to get one.

yeah, i'd consider it. as long as its still under warranty though. hopefully, 299 will be the price this fall for a new one. I got a buddy that mods them too, might talk to him. But im not in too big of a rush right now. thanks for the info though.
OK, finally had a chance to watch the Sony Conference, as well as a few other things. This was by far the best conference of the 3 IMO. Sony needed a strong showing, and they delivered. Perhaps that was why it was the best of the 3 (Sony did have the most to prove). I like what they did with the new PSP. I wanted them to change it up enough to improve the performance, but I'm glad they didn't alter it too much to alienate all the PSP owners out there already. The video out thing could be a really cool feature (now you could watch UMD movies on something other than a small screen). The PSP actually had a good show, much better than I expected. I still love Home and all the improvements their making to the service. I'm glad they were actually able to demonstrate the ability to boot up into a game online with your friends in Home; I knew they were talking about it, but I was worried it wouldn't work or something like that. It seemed kind of funny that Sony is coming close to offering a "Live Anywhere" type service before Microsoft. I loved the unique spaces created for all the 1st party games that they showed later on. Hopefully, 3rd parties will create similar environments. Wipeout HD looked great (not a PS2.5 game it seems), as did the other PSN games (SOCOM looks a lot better from the last time I saw it...IIRC). The 1st party list of games was good, but mostly nothing all that new (although the customization video of LittleBigPlanet is awesome...way easier to create levels than I thought). The new title Infamous looked nice, although seems like a Crackdown-ripoff. I never really liked the visual style of Crackdown, so maybe this game will be more to my liking (especially if they play up the hero/villain aspect of it...supposed to be like an episode of Heroes, which would be awesome). Gran Turismo 5 Prologue looked absolutely amazing. Already commented on KZ2, although as mentioned, the footage at Sony's Conference was a little better than the trailer they released earlier in the day. I really want to check out the 720p video I downloaded of it and other games, but that will have to wait another day or so. The 3rd party stuff was pretty interesting since I was worried this might be a show for Sony games only due to a variety of reasons (poor PS3 sales, 3rd party devs struggling on PS3, etc.). UT3 being PS3 exclusive is pretty big, especially with the mod support; the UE 3.0 optimization could be huge as well, although I'd like more details on that. Haze isn't quite as big of a deal, but I think it might turn out to be a solid game. Prior to the show, I kind of expected at least one of those things, but I totally didn't expect the NCSoft announcement. Too bad nothing was really revealed or shown though. Suppose this could really help out the PS3 a lot in Korea (although it is doing well enough as it is). Another awesome MGS4 trailer (Raiden vs Vamp!), although it was disappointing to finally get confirmation on a 2008 release date. With some of the PS3 games (or games on all platforms really) coming out this year, I don't really mind MGS4 being a 2008 title. Looking forward to the presentation next week. During the whole event, I really liked the sense of humility that Tretton, Harrison, and Kaz showed (can't get enough of Sony making fun of "RIIIIIDGE RACER" too). It seems like they've taken a different approach to these events ever since the issues they had with E3 2006. Now for the disappointments. No mention of a firmware update. No demos or new games available on the PSN AFAIK (yet). No talk about their new video and music service. No talk about rumble-enabled controllers (even though I think this has even been practically confirmed for the Falll IIRC). A lot of games I wanted to see weren't there, both from Sony (Africa, The Getaway, 8 Days, Heavy Rain, Wardevil, White Knight Story, etc.) and 3rd parties (Final Fantasy, Tekken...um, that might be it). Maybe they were just discussing games that would be out in their fiscal year (at least Sony's games anyway). No mention or demo of the PS Eye camera (except for a passing reference in the Singstar presentation).
also, you can get like 1000 older games and there are some other advantages too. I personally dont think i would do it, if it did brake you're screwed because the manufactorer wont fix it. BUt i think there are other benefits...i will talk to my friend see what else there is
cola...you thinking sony was the best i think the new psp is a weak attempt to save it and i dont think it will work. i still think the hime thing is weird...too much like whatever that game is people waste their lives on. game wise, they did well. Its hard not to when nothing significant has come out yet
A friend of mine just bought a 60 inch DLP, so we hooked up his roommate's 360 and played NBA Live 07. Wow, the quality was simply stunning. That alone really makes me want to get a 360, but I think I will wait just a little longer until I buy a decent HDTV.
Well, we played some other games too, but I don't remember their names. Either way, the quality was sweet and I really look forward to getting an Xbox or PS3.
all the 08 EA games are vastly better than the 07 games. if u pick up a 360 u should get the 08 sports titles.
i wouldnt mod the 360. they are pretty good at figuring out if your system s moded. plus games arent that expensive, you can always find cheap ones on half.com or used at ebgames.
yeah they can try to find modded ones, but 'this guy' said he has got that covered. dude's got skill i guess. games arent that expensive...but $5-10 isnt bad. i'd never mod mine, though. guess im just not that into it, but to each his own
Has anyone noticed that the E3 360 exclusive lineup is close to Nil? Halo is the only thing they seem to have going. Everything is multiplatform. A lot of people have been clamoring for months about the "assured" loss. The new slimmer, slighter PSP was cool too. Just off screen game footage. Ace Combat looked a little stale. Bio Shock looked like it might be good. I'm sure there are some good ones (and one big PC/360 game I'm forgetting). At the end of the day, 30 extra frames a second in a couple multiplatform sports games aren't going to factor into the market with this difference in offerings. The consol news was a bit disapointing to. No price cut and the only real change was a promotional Halo Xbox. I love halo but that seems a bit too commercial. It's really nice to see the system with the "inferior library" really outclassing Microsoft. Call me a fanboy or whatever but I think Sony really shined at E3 this year. Unless they just live and breath Halo, I'm not sure many can really disagree. Nintendo was ok. It would have been nice to see a new trailer for Mario Galaxy but the game footage was cool. Wii fit is really neat But it's just inexcusable that there was no appearance by Smash Bros. That's the title that I think (at the very beginning) made people buy a wii. The DS lineup was nice, Zack and Wiki looks neat, Soul Calibur looks like it could be really interesting but with No smash Bros. the Nintendo conference is a big disappointment. I'm amazed at how little software there is for the wii and yet how much popularity it still enjoys. I'm editing the HD versions together in an NTSC format but I'll condense it down and upload it on the net. The quality will be a lot better than the youtube ones. I know everyone doesn't have the internet connection/computer to catch the high res trailers.
Echochrome looked great. That, Uncharted, and GTA IV are all on my must have list. The Assasin's Creed gameplay from the Microsoft conference looked pretty cool, and word is, there were alot of glowing things said about Rock Band too.
