you can download the E3 Halo3 trailer on bungie.net I downloaded the WMV HD file and stream it to my 50in HDTV upstairs. Wirelessly!
I did think the LE 360 looked pretty good (with the 'metallic' color scheme), but not quite as nice as the Halo 2 XBOX 1 looked (with the 'clear' green casing). Here's the trailer. First time we've really seen anything from the single player, I believe. <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="420" height="405" id="gamevideos6" align="middle"><param name="quality" value="high"><param name="play" value="true"><param name="loop" value="true"><param name="scale" value="showall"><param name="wmode" value="window"><param name="devicefont" value="false"><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000"><param name="menu" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="salign" value=""><param name="movie" value="http://gamevideos.com:80/swf/gamevideos11.swf?embedded=1&fullscreen=1&autoplay=0&src=http://gamevideos.com:80/video/videoListXML%3Fid%3D12903%26ordinal%3D1184133508977%26adPlay%3Dfalse" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /> <embed src="http://gamevideos.com:80/swf/gamevideos11.swf?embedded=1&fullscreen=1&autoplay=0&src=http://gamevideos.com:80/video/videoListXML%3Fid%3D12903%26ordinal%3D1184133508977%26adPlay%3Dfalse" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" play="true" loop="true" scale="showall" wmode="window" devicefont="false" id="gamevideos6" bgcolor="#000000" name="gamevideos6" menu="true" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" align="middle" height="405" width="420"/></object> And the limited edition 360: <img src="http://www.bungie.net/images/News/InlineImages2007/H3_360goose.jpg"></img> Looks nice, but no real details yet. Will possibly just be an 'Elite' version (meaning same price, features) so...meh. I'd only be interested if I didn't have to pay more. EDIT: And apparently, they are not actually including the game (though it will have an HDMI port) so...yeah, a waste.
what's scary is that this game is still a year away from being released. so imagine what it is going to look like then.
The gamespot article mentions some sort of demo. I wonder if they are going to post that on their website. I am quite a bit more interested in seeing some real in-game footage.
I think there is going to be a public showing of in-game play today at the Sony presentation. I think, but not sure, that it is at 12PM Pacific
Killzone 2 looked nice but the smoke/fire could have been better. Damn, Halo 3 may push me to buy an xbox 360. I don't even have an HD tv to fully enjoy it, so I really shouldnt.
Nintendo just looks like more of the same to me. A Wii-mote steering wheel for Mario Kart. Whoop de doo. Wii Fit looks pretty good though.
more of the same from nintendo? yeah, the other brands are really breaking the mold with their FPS and original titles as well.
The Zapper and the Wheel are just holders for the Wii-mote. Nothing earth shaking there. Wii-fit lets you lean to one side or the other to stop soccer balls from going in a net. As a fitness game, it's interesting, but that's about it. None of that makes me go "Gee I wish I had a Wii."
Yeah, it will be interesting to see how much they can improve on the already impressive visuals. MotorStorm, Resistance, Lair, etc., all made pretty big leaps during the last 6 months or so of development. IIRC, KZ2 is still in the pre-alpha stage. Read some of the previews if you want to learn a little more about the gameplay and what might differentiate it from other games. Of course there will be online play. Smoke (and the clouds) were fine...probably even top-notch stuff. I agree with you about the fire though, hopefully that is a placeholder effect or something. As for Nintendo's conference, I came away a little disappointed as well. Probably because I'm not exactly the target audience Nintendo is aiming for though. Wii Fit did look really nice though, and it was cool seeing Mario Kart formally announced. The wheel and zapper are kind of meh, but I might change my mind if I see the Nintendo game that is bundled with the zapper (don't think they said what it was?). I find myself agreeing with Geoff Keighley on just about everything about these conferences actually. Hope Sony won't disappoint me as well. They're off to a nice start with Killzone, but I have some high expectations for their conference (they still have a lot to prove). Too bad I won't be able to catch it live. BTW, I downloaded the ~300MB MP4 version of the KZ2 trailer and then realized that my laptop couldn't play it. Guess I'll have to wait a few more days before I can watch that trailer in 720p.
