Umm... ..... Ok first, all first-gen systems are gonna have problems and bugs that will need to be fixed. This isn't an issue exclusive to Microsoft. And I'm willing to bet the PS3 - especially given Sony's track-record - will have similar problems. (I used to be on the Sony bandwagon until my ps2 tanked on me after maybe a year) Second, weak third party support is something I would link more with Nintendo (especially previous gen) than Microsoft (except in the RPG genre). Third, weak graphics, is again something I would attribute more to Nintendo and the Wii's obvious lack of power than to Microsoft. True the PS3 does have more power, but as I recall Xbox had PS2 beat yet PS2 held its own. Fourth, I could care less about bluray or HD DVD right now. When that time comes, me and I'm sure many, many others will buy dedicated players. Conclusion: you need to take off your blinders and get your head out of Sony's a$$. It's too early too tell who will win this gen, but Sony clearly has made a few mistakes.
true on all fronts. xbox does get good 3rd party support except japanese rpgs. xbox did have a few good rpg's in jade empire, fable, and KOTOR series. my first gen ps2 got a ton of DRE's and lucky i had a warranty replacement at BB. true, nobody has a clear-cut winning on the next-gen consoles. time will tell but i agree that sony is just killing every single casual/average gamer market with that price tag. MS and Nintendo have to take advantage soon and especially 360. 360 needs to have some good games to makes people dont want to do buy ps3 but at e3 they had some good upcoming games that excited me. ps3 was just so-so (mgs4 is definately good but not 600 good)
I always find it humorous when someone starts aggressively defending a video game console as if their mother had been dissed.
X-box 360 will get closer this round but not win the war, yet. However, Sony needs to be careful, as their support for developers is below par, at best. MS, is excellent at support, and will win over developers because of this. The Japanese market is HUGE for Sony and crap for MS. However, the USA is 65% of the world's market, it is HERE that the battle is won or lost. At one point Nintendo was considering becoming a software house only, and teaming up with MS, the deal got so close that a couple of my buddies that were designing the revolution/Wii left because they were sure it was happening. Nintendo ultimately decided against it....and will at least release one more hardware console system, they understand their market better than either Sony or MS. Sony will probably win this one too, but the margin is shrinking. DD
That is such a huge selling point, for both consoles. If I were them I would bring that up every chance I got. 2 consoles for the price of 1.
Out of nowhere this game called Assasin's Creed is blowing me away. Seriously, check out this interview with the producer and some gameplay segment..all in real time. I love how the main character just pushes people out of the way when he walks pass them. It's basically a midevil time GTA with Prince of Persia/Oblivion gameplay thrown in there. Dare I say the animation is better then MGS4? http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/772/772025/vids_1.html
The Xbox360 has and will continue to bomb in Japan. Microsoft's practically giving away the premium version by selling them cheaper than a core model found in the US.... Those games from that Final Fantasy creator looks interesting though.
