Lol, I still use my PS2 as a dvd player (don't watch a lot of movies) I know pure class. $650 (with tax) still is blowing me away though -- blue ray disks are expensive as well. Won't games be at least $75 bucks?
the 360 is a great pro-scan dvd player. try going to the menus and skipping chapters. its BLAZING FAST.
IIRC, most of the BR movie releases don't cost that much more than normal DVDs (like $20-$30), and I'd expect much higher markups on BR movies than on BR games. I want to say that Sony had said something about BR discs costing almost as little as DL DVDs to make (or something to that effect). edit: Yeah, most of the BR movies at deepdiscountDVD.com are priced at ~$24. Chronos is priced at ~$15.
I started to figure as such but then that's not really remaining consistent with the rest of the sereis. He didn't seem to age much between MGS 1 and 2. And how long in the entire series timeline was Snake created. I was under the impression that he was grown naturally w/o any accelerators. Eh I just don't like the idea of playing what looks like a 60-70 year old Snake.
Well, c'mon... it's freakin Chuck Norris! ....maybe it's just the straight white hair. Couldn't they have made it graying. Eh maybe I'm just nitpicking. Why the hell should I care anyways if I'm not getting a PS3
Saw this on the IGN Wii board...it's great... Here's the trailer...it looks awesome... http://media.revolution.ign.com/media/748/748545/vids_1.html
Just read some specs on PS3... Like the Xbox 360 controller, the new PlayStation 3 controller will be wireless, but it will function via Bluetooth 2.0 EDR instead of 2.4GHz RF. Sony will equip each PlayStation 3 system with a Blu-ray optical disc drive that can play games and movie discs. Each Blu-ray disc can hold up to 54GB worth of data, which should virtually guarantee that games won't be left wanting for extra media space. During his Game Developers Conference 2006 keynote address, Sony's Phil Harrison boasted that the storage capacity of a Blu-ray disc is large enough to hold localized content for all versions of a game, letting publishers ship one global disc instead of stamping out a new version for each language region. Games will be region-free, but movies will still have region locks preventing multi-region playback. The PlayStation 3 also comes with support for many of the older disc formats, including CR-ROM, CDR+W, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, and DVD+R. The system will also be backward compatible with PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 games. The PlayStation 3 will have a 3.2GHz Cell processor that consists of a single PowerPC-based core with seven synergistic processing units. The Cell is the result of a joint effort between IBM, Sony, and Toshiba. The primary PowerPC core has a 512KB L2 cache, and each SPE has 256KB of its own memory to work with. The CPU has an eighth SPE for "redundancy." IBM has stated that the first prototypes have weighed in with 234 million transistors each. To put things into perspective, desktop PC processor manufacturer Intel only broke into the 200-million transistor range with its dual-core Pentium Processor Extreme Edition chip, which was released in early 2005. " During the PlayStation 3 E3 2005 presentation, Nvidia CEO and founder Jen-Hsun Huang explained that "the RSX has twice the performance of the GeForce 6800 Ultra, the highest performance GPU in the world today. Each of these GPUs retails for $500. There will be two of them, equivalent horsepower, in the RSX." The PS3 will jump out ahead in hardware performance, but the PC isn't far behind. Nvidia replaced the GeForce 6800 Ultra with the much more powerful GeForce 7800 GTX last summer. It turns out that the RSX and GeForce 7800 GTX share a similar architecture, but the RSX is still slightly faster. full scoop here
I think most of that's pretty old. RC's given a lot of that info, I think. And...haha.. Duck Hunt! That's freakin' awesome.
I'm up studying for finals. Gah. At least I'm really excited about getting Nintendos new console, which I didn't think was possible.
Same here. 'Course, if I'd have started earlier instead of browsing through threads, maybe I wouldn't be up still....
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060511...UZwV_is0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3NW1oMDRpBHNlYwM3NTc- LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Missing: scantily-clad females hawking the latest in electronic toys for the boys. ADVERTISEMENT The video game industry's annual trade show in Los Angeles opened its doors to its exhibitors on Wednesday with organizers ordering women staffing the booths to cover up or face a $5,000 fine. Banned are nudity, partial nudity, bikini bottoms or any sexually explicit or provocative conduct, according to the handbook from The Entertainment Software Association, or ESA, which owns and operates the E3 Expo. Pauline K, who declined to give her last name, wore a white shredded tank top with an exposed midriff, short mini skirt and knee-high leggings as she handed out fliers for a company that makes custom face plates for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 game machine. She said another of the models received a warning from show organizers for showing too much skin. "Apparently her cleavage was a little too distracting," she said. In January, the ESA outlined tough new penalties to enforce decency rules. Exhibitors get a verbal warning for a first violation and a second violation carries a $5,000 fine. "Last year there were a lot of complaints about how the models were beyond, in many cases, what was decent," said ESA President Douglas Lowenstein on Monday. Despite the new rules, there was no shortage of exposed skin, patent leather and knee-high boots. Many exhibitors dressed women like video game heroines and there was a group of women wearing sexy nurses' outfits. "They're wearing slightly more clothes this year," said Gail Salamanica, an exhibitor at the show, "But not much."

My son will love it. He is 5 and has whipped just about everyone he has played. He routinely beats my teenage cousin and his friends, and he doesn't care what character he plays.
