Why does NBADRAFT.NET have us getting Marcus Williams from UConn, Hes a PG, i don't think we need another one
NBAdraft.net isn't a reliable site. They only rank the players, not put what team they should go to. Go to draftexpress.com
Can you tell me what it says in bold letters right below "2006 Mock Draft" on this page? draftexpress.com
draftexpress is still a better site because they actually scout these players. the nbadraft.net people don't scout and that's why their player comparisons are mostly bull$hit.
If there's one player out there that could be compared to Ron Artest or Gerald Wallace it's Hassan Adams. That dude is going to be one of the best players in the draft. He's got all the tools. If he's there when the Rockets pick early in the second round, he'd be a steal.
i doubt Marcus Williams will fall to the second round. dude plays like deron williams and he was #3 last year.
Who do you guys think of the 2 Euro guys (Bargnani & Splitter). I heard about Splitter last summer, I wonder if he has improved any over the season. They sure make Bargnani sound like the next Dirk. I bet some teams will be a little more reserved about these guys because of Milicic, I'd take any of these guys if they fell our way. I would also like to see Gansey in the 2nd Round.
Splitter has been doing well in Spain. His defence is thought to be better than his offense. He is showing improvement.
I'm loving the idea of LaMarcus Aldridge on this team. It would be nice to get a sharp shooter who plays D as well.
only videos of splitter i could find on the web: http://www.acb.com/video/200405_J19_splitter.avi http://www.acb.com/video/200405_J14_splitter.avi
Draft the best player available. Fill your holes by trades and FA. Drafting has always been a hit or miss business as it is. If you focus only on just some particular position, size, or style, you are lowering your probability of success even further. This year's draft has no can't miss potential superstars.
I like the idea of getting an athletic 4/5 in the first round, if available. Howard is really not what we want on a championship team and Mutombo has only a year or so left. Noah would be my favorite as Florida has him guarding 3s at times. Aldridge is another possibility. Thomas from LSU or Horoford from Florida if we really need another 4. Athletic bigs cut back on defensive problems in rotation. Maybe we can continue our progress in the lottery competition and get one of them. In the second round we need to consider Blaylock from Iowa State or Gansey. Blaylock is a PG, but he sounds like he might be Alston with defense. Gansey would be perfect, but they make him sound like he may not be able to move laterally. For undrafted, I think Bobby Jones from Washington could be helpful. He plays a lot of defense, gets offensive rebounds, seems to have a 3pt shot although I don't know if he is mobile enough to play swing or if we will be a major ballhandler. I think we will need defensive perimeter players to cut back on transition baskets and force the other teams to play at our pace. These same defensive players would collect turnovers to start our own break so we might be able to stay with teams in fast break scoring which we need to do in order to get more easy baskets, particularly when TMac is on the bench. These players would also likely be less expensive if we need to bring in a third max player to solidify our offense. Francis is a Knick these days, so you never know? I also think we need to play Hayes more to give him a better chance. Hayes does seem to collect fouls in a hurry and he does need to work on that. Somtimes I think we are giving Howard minutes to enhance his trade value. My personal fantasy is that we trade Howard for our third scorer. I will now return to my bunker and await your replies.
Unfortunately, those clips don't show us much about his game. He was wide open for both of those plays.
1st pick: an athletic big, a noah type or even tyrus thomas. ideally this would be lamarcus aldridge, but management was too short sighted to see the big picture after being hit with a perfect excuse for their horrible year. 2nd pick: a nice size shooting guard who can knock down treys. i'm talking about you mr. rashad anderson, 6-5, 220 of pure clutchness and range. see you don't have to sacrifice size, strength and athetlic ability (reddick) in order to get the shooter you need. he can come off the bench, but still has the size and strength to maybe develop into a starter. the next michael redd. alternate scenario 1st pick: a big shooting guard like brandon roy or rodney carney. preferably roy because he's the most complete player and carney has limited handles. 2nd pick: same as first scenario or a 4 that's ready to go and not necessarily athletic who can knock down treys off the bench like pittsnoggle -- he should be available mid-second round so it would be better to trade for an additional pick in that area than use the knicks pick on him.
No to Pittsnoggle. He can't defend a bird in a cage. We can get a long range shooting PF back with a deal for Padgett or some other established player in the league. If we are going to wait to the 2nd round to go big, we need to move up into the last first round and grab Paul Millsap or Glen Davis.
