In fairness, when Stoudamire came into the NBA he was actually older than Tyrus Thomas is. Yes, he came straight out of highschool, but he was 20 years old.

""He's known as one of the premier players in America, I'm not. But I'm not going to let him kick my butt. My objective is to take his soul and win the game."

who was Tyrus Thomas talking about?

I believe he was referring to Josh McRoberts--who i just read won't be entering the draft so anyone with him on their wishlist will have to scratch him off.

thanks for the quick response, i really like Thomas's passion and attitude and the way he plays the game, unfortunately he probably won't be available when we pick probably, he also needs to beef up some if he can, hopefully he won't be the same as stromile swift.

I have mixed feelngs today. I wanted us to win but I do want a higher pick as well. The Wolves and Chicago won tonight which might help us in the pecking
    order.

i think we should really look into joakim noah if he does enter the draft this year... he is a good friend of mine and i believe that there is a chance of him declaring for the draft if his dad lets him... i mean he wasnt gonna declare this yr however hes been killin people in the tourney and was named minneapolis's mvp so now i think theres a good chance he'll declare (but its all up to his pops). he is an amazing shot blocker, rebounder and passer (for a big man), and can sink those open jumpshots as well (and hes way quicker than most of you think)... as long as he gains some weight, i think he'll be a good fit for the rockets playing alongside tracy and yao.

You are not alone. I think everybody on this board is a walking confliction. Anybody who wants the best for Houston should hope that they get the highest draft pick possible-the only we can do that is by losing and losing lots.

Agreed 100%. I have no problem with them playing hard, entertaining ball and losing. Winning doesn't help us now. A higher draft pick does.

The risk of that happening is exactly why we won't be picking him. This is going to be our only high draft pick in a while... why risk it on someone that could very well become like someone you already have?

Believe me, I'm sure Noah is on everybody's radar right now. Too bad he'll be long gone by the time we pick unless we land a top 3 pick. :(

Our best case scenario is the 7th pick.

6th pick's record (Atlanta): 21-47 is too far for us to reach with our 30-40 record and only 12 games left.

Toronto and Orlando needs to catch a fire and keep winning games, and we need to lose alot more. But it looks like we're really trying our best to win... going OT tonight against the Cavaliers.

I believe we will end up with the 9th.

Actually, our best case scenario is to end up with the 1st pick. There's a lottery remember. :)

Tyrus Thomas can end up with lesser athleticism and skills than Stromile but I'd still prefer him over Swift. Intensity and drive is what sets them apart.

I'd also wouldn't complain if Rocks drafted Glen Davis the dude is like a tank in a tutu, ie monster size but agile.

Along with all those skills he is an excellent ball handler for a big man, kid looks like a swing man taking the ball down the court. He is going to get a lot of pressure to come out particularly if the Gaters win it all, his stock has really shot up and I wouldn't be surprised if he is the #1 this year. If he is there when the Rox pick it would be a no brainer to take Noah.

noah's definately a top five pick if he enters the draft but if you're banking on him to put on weight i don't think he can that much. judging by his father's build and that his mother was a former is sweden (i don't know what she looks like but if she's anything like the supermodels/waifs his father knocks up or bangs) the genes to bulk up might not be there.

i hope he does enter the league though as he'll knock someone down a spot in the draft which would be good for the rockets.
