Travis Johnson is an idiot. Taunting Trent Green when he was down. Personal Foul gives the Dolphins an 1st and 10.
Travis johnson got flagged b/c he yelled at the lifeless trent green after the play like an idiot. unsportsmanlike conduct.. probably 15 yds
The penalty is because as Green was laying motionless, Travis Johnson stood over and taunted him. What an idiot!
There's a flag down? BS. Green got knocked the f out...legally. This is football. I'm sorry if he got hurt. He was trying to block. Edit - Taunting...okay. Then I agree.
I haven't seen a replay of Green going down, but I bet that's what it was. Although, they did throw the flag VERY late.
It makes sense now that it was a taunting penalty... thus the reason why it was late. They just showed TJ on the sideline saying "I'm cool..."... whatever, you better be when they're proceeding to cart off the unconsious player that you tried to get in the face of after he made a legal (albeit semi-cheap) hit.
It's not like Johnson believed Green was going to stay down. It was dumb, but it was in the heat of the moment and he probably was angry because he thought he could have been injured by Green's low block.
after seeing the replay, it looks like trent green was blocking travis johnson, and T J's knee hit trent green on the side of the head. i didnt see the taunting part. i may have missed it.
This is the one reason I like college football better than the NFL... in the latter, if you touch, taunt or do anything to one of their precious QBs, you can count on the flag to come out every time. They're not even actual players. It's embarrassing. Might as well give the QBs red jerseys, like in practice.
QB's are protected from trash-talking as well... and it didn't help that the guy was motionless when TJ started his talking.
I'm not saying there shouldn't be a penalty. I'm just trying not to be a knee-jerk ******* and start coming down on Johnson because he got caught up in the moment.
What that guy did is a flag in college or pros. In college, it's probably an ejection for that matter.
