He did ok last week. I'd prefer Mathis on KR and Wynn on PR, though. Mathis is a threat to score every time he gets the ball. That said, I hope for only one KR on Sunday.
Cool. I know that the Red is blessed, but I really like the White jerseys. They go well with my jorts.
Why don't we ever wear our regular HOME uniforms when we're at HOME? I don't understand it. The white uni's don't look NEAR as sharp as the blue uni's, or even the battle red uni's. We're not the Cowboys or the Redskins. I know it's a stupid thing to rant about, but I just don't understand the obsession with wearing our ROAD uniforms at HOME.
It has to do with the weather. As you know, it can get rather hot and humid in Houston. Darker colors absorb heat more than lighter colors. The Texans wear the white jerseys for this reason. It's a tad bit cooler wearing white than a dark colored jersey. That means the other team has to wear their dark jersey. Thus, they retain more heat and the Texans hope the other team fatigues more than they do. At a critical time during the fourth quarter this could mean the difference between making a play or not. The Texans don't know whether the roof will be open or not, therefore, they decide to wear the white jerseys for the first half of the season at home. When the weather cools in the second half of the season, that's when they switch to the blue and red jerseys. Only two more home games for the white jerseys. The final four home games the jersey colors will be blue, blue, red, and red.
they know that it won't be open if it's hot and humid outside. sooooo...it kinda obviates that concern. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories/2005/10/03/story8.html "Specifically, when the game-day forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s or higher, the roof will likely be closed for the game," the Texans said in a letter sent to season ticketholders days after the hot home opener.
I know they use the weather as an excuse, but it still seems silly. I don't know how much difference a dark jersey vs. a light jersey would make when you have all those undershirts and pads on. Besides, the jerseys are very thin and 'breath'. Really I'm just mad because I got a DeMeco Ryans BLUE jersey that I plan on wearing to the game on Sunday.
It's not a huge difference, but a difference just the same. I mean heat wise... Where it does make a difference is how comfortable you are. Having played in all sorts of weather and various types and colors of jerseys... I certainly wouldn't want to wear a dark color in this area, unless it's around December. Even if it rains. Because if the rain stops and the sun comes out, it makes for a miserable afternoon.
Nope I'm a true Texans fan believe it or not! I just call it like I see it and I'm always realistic, plus I know someone that works in the organization as well. And they basically told me that they didn’t know when Mathis was coming back.
It doesn't matter what the weather is , what the Texans are wearing and where we're playing this DAMN game! If they would win iwearing tribal uniforms and painting their faces like warriors, I say go for it! It doesn't matter if we have to play this game in Antarctica, the Texans to STAY relevant and not take a step backwards as a franchise, have to win this game. By whatever means ... PERIOD. No more excuses. Just WIN the DAMN game! No more being 'nice guys' to pathetic teams!
