There goes Dubin's sub 3 ERA. Dubin has a WHIP over 1.60, 5+ ERA for a reliever, and he's the pick to keep the game close with Pressly rested...

Everyone complaining about Espada for not using leverage guys while down after everyone complained about him overusing them early in the season while down.

 

I hope Espada doesn't take the philosophy to the playoffs that if down just a run you can't use you high leverage guys in similar situation like today. Don't like going to unproven guys in this game with a chance for a sweep and keep the momentum going.

 

Espada has talked before about not playing top relievers in a losing game as if a 1-run deficit against the Dodgers isn’t high leverage. He’s wrong. Leverage isn’t just winning or losing. It annoys me to no end that his heuristic view informs important pitching changes.

 

Can't blame the HPU.
