Myles Straw's usual swing would be great for a guy who is about 3 inches taller and 40 lbs heavier.

Straw vs. Adam Everett at the plate... who you taking?

Everett certainly could get a bunt down... also didn’t realize he had 40 career HR’s.

Straw. I don’t get it. The dude looks like he should have at least a little pop in his bat, but damn he’s a weak slap hitter. At least he doesn’t upper cut his swing I guess.

Man, they are not giving Garcia the outside corner on that slider. Really....annoying.

Team psychologist needed for the young pitchers. They just start getting less confident at the strangest times (bottom of the order today).

Should have been 0 but I'll settle for 1 all things considering. Now try to use Garcia getting out of a bases loaded jam as a momentum builder.

This is my exact point: he is not a slap hitter, he does have an uppercut. He swings like he has something other than warning track power. This year he's neutral at GB/FB, which is not ideal for a guy with his speed and no power who also strikes out a bunch.

AE before Lee broke him was a 2.5-3.5 WAR player for 4+ years. Of course that was all defense, but if you play a premium position and have a weak stick, you best be great at the other thing.

Oh, and I take AE at the plate, all day. So far.

Yeah. That's why most contenders don't rely on young pitchers to the extent the Astros have with their staff. Jim Crane is under the luxury tax, though, so we are all winners, really.
