I agree with that last bit: they are fun, exciting players to watch. But while they are doing very well now, NFL defenses tend to adjust rather quickly. It's not like the read-option offense is something that's just been invented. It's been tried in the NFL before, and it doesn't usually do very well long-term.

I think we're just seeing an exceptional class of new, young QBs.

Well when the other team has nearly 600 yards of offense then yeah it might not matter who's at QB.

Then the power running game is open. I know at some point you can't guard everything but these new crop of qbs are going to bring more versatile LBs in my opinion maybe smaller ones, hybrids that can function as SS/LB ex. a sane Bernard Pollard.

Pack had the ball 4th and 4 from midfield with 9 minutes left down 14. They punt and now are down 21 with 3 minutes left in the game. They were probably going to lose anyways, but lacking balls on 4th down game them no chance to win.

Yeah, it's their personnel that makes it tough. The Niners have that power running game, they have speed on the outside, excellent tight end with speed, and a killer defense. When the QB can make all the throws and can run it like that with all of that around him, that's pretty tough to handle.

I love harbaugh's coaching he has that killer instinct, and everyone on that team knows who is boss. I'm sure if alex smith starting whining jim would have slapped him and sent him home crying lol.

Very true when the Manning bros and Brady were ruling straight speed/edge rusher were valued at a premium. I think edge setters (Watts, J. Smith) are going to be crucial and valued higher that straight speed rushers.

Rodgers will never win anything with that pathetic defense. Is this the 3rd time this year that defense has given up more than 200+ yards rushing?

That's not necessarily true. 10-15 years ago, people said the spread / shotgun offenses would never succeed in the NFL and that defenses would adapt to that - never happened and now that's the primary style of offense being run. When you have QB's that can throw accurately AND run around, it's simply more difficult to stop than QBs that can throw accurately but can't run around. There's not a lot of adjusting that can change that.

Exactly and thank you. The Broncos were penalized more than the Ravens. The first interception Manning threw (that was returned for a touchdown) was an obvious PI against Baltimore and was not called. You had the fumble call against Manning which led to another Baltimore TD (I think that play was very close so maybe it was a fumble although I do agree that Dierdork was very annoying). Or how about the catch made by Boldin in OT that looked shaky at best or even better the phantom PI against Champ Bailey? All the breaks went against Denver except the two Trinton ST TDs.

Ravens were extremely lucky to win this one although the whiff by Moore on that deep ball was horrendous. Add in the idiotic conservative play calling by Fox and McCoy at the end and I'm sorta glad the Broncos lost. You deserve to lose when you play like you got a pen stuck up in your ass.

Anyone else worried for the Texans after watching these two games today. They just don't seem to be on the same level and honestly couldn't see them beating any of these teams...

Honestly I'm excited i think stylistically Texans vs SEA or SF will be a good game for us. We seem to play well with physical teams, and i would like to see a good defensive battle.

I do not want to see Brady, Manning, or Rodgers in the super bowl

I am done with the packers! If erin rogers' defense didn't bail him out of a 2 int, 60 QBR performance in the nfc championship, he would have never won anything. he is not elite. he can't win a huge game by HIMSELF!
I'd rather have Lynn dickey from the 80s era! chapters of this book are finito!

I'm almost all out of books. I just have the "Brady new moon" series left. Please brady, win! You look so cute when you get angry.

In case you missed the Jacoby Jones TD earlier (like I did)...

I can not believe the Broncos gave up that touchdown. Just amazing.
