Very possible. The guy going against Verlander tomorrow has the best fastball in baseball and is the one pitcher that has been better than Verlander since the all star break.
No way, if we struggle it will be because this team is unreliable offensively. The fact that the other pitcher may be really good never has anything to do with it
Over. I predict a 5-2'Astros win. The Astros know they blew JVs 18th win last time. They won't do that again. And it's the young, inexperienced pitchers that everyone else hits that shut them down. Galen in for a less than stellar outing.
AL wins leaders JV 17 Valdez 16 Manoah 15 Garcia 14 If Urquidy wins his next start, we would sport 4 of the top 5 wins leaders. Oh and we have some schmucks named Javier and McCullers. Embarrassment of riches. And young phenom Brown waiting in the wings.
While JV vs Gallen is a fun pitching matchup from a fans' perspective (especially if you like pitching), I wish he didn't face him because I don't want another no run support night for him. The @OAK (6/1) and @CHW (8/16) still bug me. Should have 19 instead of only 17.
How have I not heard of this kid's streak of 44 1/3 scoreless innings? 6 straight starts of zero runs allowed. That's in the top 3 or 4 streaks of all time. I just looked it up, it's the 7th best, he was about an inning short of being 4th best (Zach Greinke). Fun fact, Greinke is the first pitcher to ever have 6 straight scoreless outings and allowing 4 or fewer hits.
