Certainly does. I think Diaz is the rotational player (hopefully the only one to any extent) and will split time with Mancini. And Vazquez appears to be the give the starting catcher a break option at this point, and that potentially may not happen the entire playoffs unless Maldy gets pinch hit for.
Sounds like he had a lot of talent, but either wasn't developed correctly by the Marlins or needed a reset.
I really wish they would have experimented w Diaz in RF and Tucker in CF. Diaz has swung well all year and 100% deserves Chaz's AB's. Sure Chaz is probably a better defensive CF than Tuck but he isn't Kenny Lofton. Playing Diaz everyday would also force Yuli down to at least the 7 spot.
Usually is open most of April, some of May, then back open in September. They had a lot of road games early this year and it rained some as well, and this month has been unbearably hot, but unlike NRG… when the weather is nice (and it’s not the playoffs), they usually do open it up. We shall see if they open it for any of the playoff games that are not WS ones (they haven’t since 2001). Also, MMP only cost $250 million. Even in 2000 dollars, that’s extremely cheap for a stadium that has held up this well and has a roof.
Definitely worth the cost at MMP if for nothing else, allows for natual grass. NRG is mostly a waste but did the simple retractable roof at NRG cost much more than a sturdier permanent roof? MMP's retractable roof had to be a lot more expensive.
