All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PBP, that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on AT&T Sports SW unless otherwise noted. 9-27 Zach Davies (R) vs. Lance McCullers Jr. (R) 7:10 9-28 Zac Gallen (R) vs. Justin Verlander (R) 7:10
https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/official-astros-orioles.317066/page-2#post-14253946 I only post this because I finally speculated about the rotation well before it happened and it worked out. You have to take every win seriously and celebrate it.
Looking forward to this one. During COVID lockdowns, my son was being trained out here in Sugar Land by a AA Minor Leaguer named Stone Garrett, and we ended up becoming great friends with him. He made it to the Big Show back a month or so ago, and is now on the Diamondbacks. He is getting our Family out on the field for BP. Really surreal for us and cool for my Son to see it is possible to make it to the Bigs if you put in work! Read this to see how he got there. We were with him the day he got the call from his Agent that he'd been picked up by AZ. Never give up!! Stone Garrett called up by D-backs after help from LinkedIn (mlb.com)
It will be interesting how they handle the starters over the last week with 5 days off after the season and another day off after game 1. Do Framber/Verlander line up to start the last 2 games, or do they schedule them to both to have extended time off and work a simulated game? My guess is that Verlander starts the last game and game 1.
My thought is McCullers, JV and Framber to close the season with JV, Framber and McCullers lined up to start the Best of 5 ALDS. This leaves Javier as the potential 4th starter, IF NEEDED. Starter 1 will have 5 days rest with the off days if needed for game 5 IF NEEDED.
I like that Stone Garrett story. It's always fun to read about folks who make it to the bigs in any sport through a non traditional route.
We need to avoid back-to-back losses for JV with another no-show offense. Cease has luckily had a couple of shorter outings with not that many strikeouts and two no decisions. Looks like Cease will have two more starts.
Roof open tonight… might as well be. Also will get rid of the excuse that they’re not used to playing with an open roof when MLB decrees it open for the WS. This is also no doubt the “illness” Lance has been scratched for.
I mean… ok? JV is -4,000 to win the cy young. It’s over man. Makes no matter what happens in regards to the Astros offense in his last start or 2 of the year.
