Just don't want opposing teams taking too many liberties targeting key players on this team with no fear of a Feliz or Giles fastball coming inside to one of their key players. Astros tend to come across as soft in certain areas. Teams will try to bully you if you come across as soft. Odor tried to take out Altuve at second in one of their games last year with a dirty slide. Rangers overall have no fear or respect for the Astros. I know you feel takes like this are irrational and can't be "proven" but whatever.
Did Jake teach the pitchers how to actually pitch? Anyways, with the run of lefties coming up, he's going to get some PT... but please keep your fantasies of him sparking you to yourself!
Pitching inside does not = targeting. I'm not questioning rationality here... in fact I'm being as rational as possible. If you want to obsess about bullying, payback, team chemistry, and being soft... you may want to stick with the NBA.
Between the early b****ing about Correa, Fiers and Gattis...only to have them be the reason we're in the lead. The game is more than 3 innings.
With such overwhelming hot takes like how Jake Marisnick sparks this team... and how its impossible to win with Carlos Gomez... its hard to argue with that.
Thread pretty much went silent after the 3 run inning. Had to entertain with talks about head-hunting and sparking.
Just going to reiterate that my "Altuve hitting cleanup" notion isn't a 3-inning conclusion, but a 53 game observation. Taking Correa out of the 3 slot is less an indictment to Carlos as it is more a testament to the type of season Altuve is having. Altuve hits better than Correa with RISP (and is having what may end up as one of the best offensive seasons ever for an Astro), and there is no better hitter to protect Correa in the lineup than Altuve.
