edison volquez is such a piece of ****. Dude is headhunting for teams best players and throwing high and inside. **** him. If we meet in the post season, I want CarGo or Gattis to charge the mound against him.

At 13-5, think we keep throwing him out there. He's doing slightly better ththan average. What may be difficult is if he is a 20 game winner and we need to decide on our playoff rotation of 4. He likely would have earned a spot. And I would be ok with that. Keep it up McHugh!

Saw this snippet from an article.

Also, despite half the at bats, Correa is 4th in HR's at short stop with 12. He's only 4 home runs behind the leader.

And Correa's slugging percentage currently puts him tied for 7th in the entire league. Not bad considering Triple Crown Miggy is 6th. And by not bad, I mean insane. He was born to play baseball.

Anyways, thought the bit from the article was interesting.

The stats vs all SS's are good, but we also know most SS's are bad right now. SLG #7 in the AL is pretty amazing though.

I can't believe how many people are still talking so much crap about McHugh. He had a bad stretch, but he's been awesome over the last 2 months. He was also awesome to start the year.

Over his last 9 starts he has a 3.19 ERA, and the team is 7-2 when he starts.

In his first 6 starts he had a 3.23 ERA, and the team was 6-0 when he started.

I know everybody is spoiled and wants Keuchel,Kazmir, McCullers dominance, but that's unrealistic. McHugh isn't as good as we hoped, but he's still been really good for most of the year.

He's also been very lucky. I'll take it.

Actually, he has been unlucky if you look at the peripheral statistics.

there are a good # of us (you included) who understand this and have tried to use these facts to turn the argument. I feel like there's no getting around it. If they haven't been convinced, they're just going to keep assuming--and stay quiet on days like today when he has a really solid game. See above for an example.

I'll say what I said during the deadline--I'd be perfectly fine with McHugh starting the 4th game of a series (unless we're down 3-0 or something and want Keuchel on short rest), especially with guys like VV/Feldman/Fiers available out of the pen when the time comes.
