Agreeeeeee, i like VV and i think he is able to help out of the bullpen. Why not 5 run lead???? Or 3, he is good.
We already have 6 starters, he makes 7. He really has no role on this team right now, and he's the easiest demotion on the 7 starters. It certainly wasn't a performance demotion.

Honestly, I believe they know he is better than some of the pitchers we have but he has the ability to be optioned right now and wait till September or until someone gets hurt.

Conger's slugging over .500  Never would have guessed in a million years we'd be getting this kind of offense from him. All those Angels fans earlier in the year talking about how they got a steal... heh.
There is a lot to be said for lineup depth. Astros HR and RBI production by position. 3B 21 45 SS 20 55 LF 18 53 DH 17 65 C 17 45 RF 15 41 1B 15 45 2B 11 54 CF 9 32 We also have had an OPS over .715 from every position except 1B and CF. We addressed the least productive spot in the lineup, and we may have addressed 1B as well with Lowrie coming back.
And then we get SPRINGER! This lineup should look pretty damn solid down the stretch as long as there are no injuries.
