For what? Are we going to trade for a team's best hitter, best bullpen pitcher, and #3 starter all in one deal?

Cause anything less than that isn't going to be helping a team full of guys who aren't doing the job they're getting paid to do.

And even so, this team has a positive future ahead of them. That's why hopefully the front office doesn't do anything drastic to save this season, in what slim hope they still have. No sense in either having a firesale or selling the farm for a rent-a-player.

Would you stop taking up for Lidge he's a **** head...look at his ERA for the month, blown saves, HR's allowed...I mean are you his friend or something ? He has no business playing Major League Baseball and making millions. Hell if thats the case I used to play High School ball I can throw it right down the middle and let batters hit bombs off of me all day. I can throw wild pitches all day, and I can hit batters everything that Lidge has done all year...He SUCKS and 99.9 % of this board and probably the Astros fans agree..oh yeah your that .1 percent.......

The Astros still have time to sell, sell, sell. This team is dog meat. You still have two dominant starters and Berkman, but that's about it. The bullpen is a shambles and they have about five starters who play out of position, or are completely overmatched at the plate. It's grim.

This is freakin pathetic. Like I have been saying the last few days, we don't need bats on this team. I don't want Soriano and I don't want Tejada for our farm system. SIX RUNS SHOULD BE ENOUGH!!! We need pitching. Trade Lidge for a dirty gym sock. Or cut his ass. I'm sick of our so-called relief pitching.

This team does not deserve to make the playoffs. I sincerely hope they do, but they do not deserve to. In a fair world, this team stays at home in mid-October.

If Linebrink is still available, I say go get him. If we can bring someone semi-reliable up from the minors, let's do that. Bats are not the problem. This team has shown me over the last few weeks that our offensive issues are a thing of the past, especially if Morgan Ensberg is healthy. Get some damn pitching.

This loss should not have been a loss. I hope Clemens beats Qualls and Lidge in that locker room. I don't care if he is earning a prorated $22 million. He deserves better than this night in and night out. This happens to him every friggin start and it's a disgrace. If the Astros just need some relief pitcher to come out and blow a game every night, I'm available for 10% of Lidge's salary.

6 back doesn't sound so bad, until you notice that they are 6 games under .500. This team can't even begin to think WC unless they break even.

Garner should have never put Lidge in. Was Wheeler not available? Seriously, Springer would have been a better option. Its not even a save situation for Lidge. He is our closer supposedly and Garner USED to save Lidge for the later innings in a tied game.

    This just in ... we're screwed !!!

We once again rescue defeat from the jaws of victory. This time our bullpen blew it!

If there is no move within 24 hrs which probably will be, bring up Pence and Hirsh. Surely they can perform better than the lot of these stiffs.

this game today was pathetic! Once again proof this team has as much a chance of being playoff bound as pigs flying over the blue moon and the moon being in line with uranus.

Oh yes, and the news gets better. Next up we go to SD and their pitching is some of the best in the NL. Unlike, the D-Backs non-pitching selves.

We should have blown them out! Opportunities, opportunities abounded. 10+ men left on base.

I have tried to remain optimistic about this team. This game just sapped it. We're screwed !!! No playoffs and that pathetic bullpen owes Rocket a steak dinner, something-because they BLEW IT!

Ill tell you for what. For MIGUEL TEJADA. I posted that I felt the Astros are in win-now mode but Tejada would be great for us for atleast the next 2 years. Tejada and Berkman back to back would be great and would help Lance even more.

The Astros have never blown a 4 run lead after the 7th this season. It should have never come to bringing Lidge in during that situation in the first place. A 5-1 lead should have been enough.

This is second time this year Garner has pulled Clemens too early. Ill take a 5-1 lead with Clemens still out there any day of the year.

I'm glad you brought that up..What has Purpura done ? The trade for Aubrey Huff..Woo Hoo !! If you think about it he has not done a damn thing...Last year he stayed with the players he had and the Astros went to the WS...Honestly I don't think he meant to do that but it made him look like a genious...He has done nothing and I am pretty sure that the Astros will stand pat once again...........

Regardless... Qualls sucked more today... frankly, I don't think Lidge, Garner, or any of the other Astros expected to have to be making game saving efforts to try and win this game after watching Roger mow down the D-backs for 7 innings, and seeing this hapless offense scratch out a bunch of hits and put 5 runs on the board.

The Qualls eruption also came out of nowhere (the most painful of eruptions)... at least with Lidge, the D-backs had all the momentum on their side (to go along with Lidge's lack of command)... at that point, the game was already "mentally" lost from the players view of things.

if preston wilson gets a hit pinch hitting for clemens we score 2 insurance runs that actually wouldve made a difference...i have no idea why garner is getting any blame whatsoever
