This is probably an early request, but any chances for March 18th for the Spurs game? Thats probably the best chance of me going to the game along with my cousins yea, im down with that, if we can get a discount...im brroookkkeee
Don't know about any "discounts," but I e-mailed Brian H. asking about this Friday's game since I'm coming home from Austin. This is what I got:
Definitely a good deal, I'm guessing about 40-50 Clutchfans would show up? If the Rockets honestly want "Rowdies" to come out in huge numbers (100+), what would it take?
I hope most people understand that the point of this shouldn't be a cheaper way to get tickets (a la a fan club) to good games, but a two-way relationship to improve our gigantic gripe about the Toyota Center being a tomb. If anything, it's the mid-week games that are most in need of energy. Evan
I totally agree with you. Beside, $50 for those tickets isn't all that bad, they are pretty good seats
I agree.....you're also paying for the experience as well as great seats. The t-shirts are a major bonus though!!!!!
I absolutely love the idea and wanna be part of the dawg pound environment. Once I'm jobbed again, I'll be willing to shell out whatever it takes to be in the loudest section of the TC.
$50 isn't bad for those seats, but some of us simply cannot afford $50 for one night's entertainment.
I understand that but it's still not terrible either I wish we could only spent $50, considering we have to cover gas from Dallas to Houston....Hotel room and then spending money for the game all that in addition to our tickets.....
If you only need one night, I might be able to put you and the wife up for the night in return for a ticket!
I am actually serious about that. I will need a bit of advance warning to talk with the wife about it, but it is definitely doable.
Well, I disagree. I doubt the "Red Rowdies" will have long term success unless there is more incentive than just tshirts. After all, if you go multiple times, how many tshirts do you need? If they can't do discounts, they should look at other options. Somebody suggested a pre-game party where a player could stop by. That would really get people excited, IMO. I'd quickly pay $50 for a ticket in exchange for the promise that I scream my head off the whole game thereby helping to energize the building.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying they shouldn't look into discounts. What I'm saying is that shouldn't be the point of the section, and for several people on this thread, it seems to be. If they offer season tickets for this section next year, the seats would be discounted from face. Also, I would be in favor of their nabbing an opposing section (say the upper part of section 114) that regularly goes for ~$35/ticket in season packages. We'd be on both sides of the court, and it would be more affordable for some to join in. But the hard truth of the matter is, they can't just create a $20 section and lose money to put us in the building every game. They have to consider the cost/benefit of things. If you couldn't afford to go to many games before, you can't expect this to be your gateway. That doesn't mean you're being done wrong or this idea will fail. It's a commitment, not a free ride. I think we could get a solid group able to commit to this in the upcoming year. Evan
This is great for the Rockets as they are trying to make a push for the playoffs. Unfortunately, for us living outside of Houston - we can only cheer you guys on as the Toyota Center is a wee bit far. I'll be watching the game on ESPN tonight so... MAKE SOME NOISE ROWDIES!!
I just found this thread today, and so probably too late to weigh in. I really, really do not care for Rowdies, but Red Alert works very well. I haven't had time to think of an individual member would be called for Red Alert, but the collective group could be called The Red Alert. Here's my $.02: Red Alert = All sci-fi space vessels have them, i.e. Rocket ships. Rowdies = Where would you find rowdies on a rocketship? Maybe in the brig... this term also serves to promote the redneck stereotype instead of the Space City image. For football, fine, it's supposed to be violent. But for the game of basketball, it just doesn't work. To match our name, I prefer a more high-tech destruction of our opponents.
