    Chance,

I heard another rumor last night...is Pallilo leaving? That's what one of my fiancee's clients told me, but there's no way I believe it. He didn't know who was replacing him, just that he heard he was out the door.

Yeah, yeah, you probably can't say anything. :)

Hope thats not true. It would be the biggest blow 610 could receive. I think he's the best sports mind there, hope its nothing more than a rumor.

I agree. I prefer him over Rich...and Charlie commented on my DMB shirt when I answered an on-air question during the Super Bowl pre-game. :)

Charlie Palillo is the best sports talk radio guy Houston's ever had, and he's an icon. And he and Rich Lord work great as a tandem, Rich is actually a little annoying by himself. I can't believe they'd consider letting him go.

If Charlie leaves, half of the devout listeners to 610's drive-time players will follow... especially if he turns up around the same time-slot on KBME.

I still have nightmares of Rich Lord and Kenny Hand handling the drive time before Charlie came. Back then, I'd still listen to Sportsbeat on 740 simply because Palillo WAS the authority on Houston Sports.

Rich seems like the common fan who sits on the couch and observes (and that's fine as well), but Charlie actually uses stats, facts, history, and logic to make his points... and he's virtually right every time.

Charlie... if you're readin this (and I know you do)... hopefully you'll find a way to stay on the air down here for years to come.

I hope Charlie stays. Is that why he's been on vacation a lot over the past few months?

Charlie's gone. I'll comment more when I get a second today.

Charlie leaving deserves its own thread, I think. Thanks for the heads up and keep us posted, Chance.

If Charlie bails on the afternoon show, my investment in Sirius satellite radio equipment will save me.

I promise I will. Right now, OFFICIALLY, Charlie is one of Infinity's finest. He will not be on air for the indeterminate future.

    What's that on the wall?

Crap. I hope this doesn't mean that soon he will "officially" become one of "Clear Channel's finest."

    Clear Channel sucks.

Charlie is more important to 610 (on a relative scale) than Beltran is to the Astros. Losing him would leave Houston without its most intelligent, unbiased and entertaining sports voice. There is certainly no one currently in this market that could come close to filling half the void that he would leave.
