It seems to be that the states with the lower uninsured states are typically northeast states. Interesting that California and Texas are near the same boat . Could it be illegal residents entering the equation?
California is ranked 21st. Not great but not bottom ten so it seems like California is much better at handling their illegal population without having healthcare metrics suffer. Here are the bottom ten. Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida, Alaska, Mississippi, Nevada, Idaho, North Carolina, Arizona and South Carolina. How many of those states are border states? Seems like there is a more relevant trend amongst the bottom ten.
Let me guess these states have a lot less mostly peaceful rioting ? ..I agree that those without healthcare need better access ..but I do wonder how we pay for this.
Well if you think that's fair good for you. Unfortunately it isn't pragmatic nor sustainable. You want to know why US infrustrcture (bridges, roads, public transportation etc) is so trash relative to other developed nations? When the bottom 50% of Ameeicans have to pay a larger portion of their income in taxes than the wealthiest families in this country, this is what you get. A country full of uninsured folks driving on bridges falling apart. The graph is concise and effective at displaying an accurate trend. There is no deceiving here. It's the effective tax rate accounting for all levels of taxation from the federal to the local level.
How are you making a connection between this graph about national tax rates and Texas' uninsured rate?
It's a comment of our overall failure as a nation when it comes to healthcare. Also public health insurance at the federal level would help Texans the most out of any other state.
Easy, opt-in to Medicaid Expansion. Yes, Texas will have to pay 10% of the cost but that more than offsets that cost of uncompensated care. Uninsured people still utilize health care and those costs get passed on to everyone else.
If he loves playing soldier so much, can he not just rejoin? I'm sure they can find a job for a handicap.
He doesn't "play soldier". He LIVED it.... as a Navy Seal.... for 5 tours... and lost an eye in the process.
Oh, man, I am aware, believe me (I did write "rejoin"). He makes sure everybody is aware. Wait... are you... him? Lulz.
We already pay enough universal comprehensive healthcare as a nation too, we just don't have a competent system, nor government in place to make it happen. Call it corruption, call it incompetence, end result is the same.
Very true. But......he sold his soul to fight for American rights by joining up to be one of Trump's toy soldiers. From hero to zero, all in the name of power and greed. He's one vet I would never vote for. His alligiance to a psychotic lying narcissist speaks wonders. From one Vet to another. Thank you for your service Dan, but your new loyalty is a spit in the face to people like me who believe in justice for all, equality, unity, and human rights. You too have blood on your hands from this pandemic.
When the poor and working-class fight for the rich to pay less in taxes then they do... This country has an incredibly long way to go.
