Not to state the obvious, but I think we need another innings eater. Depending on any of our hurt starters at this point is pretty risky for a team that is positioned for a long playoff run. I think it should be our main priority. We can’t wear out our bullpen before the playoffs. Another bat would be great, but we can win with a lineup of Pena, Altuve, Alvarez, Paredes, Smith, Diaz, Myers, Walker/Singleton, Dubon or substitute one out if Matthews comes thru this year (doubtful).

I didn't think Lance's extension looked great this game either .

    Hopefully he bounces back

I think some decent upside is still there and hell we need arms right nkw

I will say , in the first inning with the bases loaded , lance threw 4 straight fastballs , got behind 2-1 in the count and then threw a fast all right down the middle that the guy grounded out on . (Weak contact)

    I think he doesn't trust it .
It can still be somewhat effective

Has to learn to pick his spots better

Mph isn't the end all be all .

I think the "problem" is that he sometimes struggles to spot it and spot his curve.

He's never had great control due to all his movement and got around it a bit by having stuff so devastating that even if was a meatball , guys didn't square it up so much

Fastball losing a tick matters (probably a tick and a half from his prime ) also MLB hitters are getting better.

He's trying to work in a cutter , and it sucks . I'd go 4 seam if he's going to throw a different FB than the sinker .

Fan graphs has him at just below 92 on the FB.
About the same as Nick Hernandez.
Not sure how you can survive as a right handed starter with that kind of fastball.
They need to move him to the pen.
They need to trade for soroka to eat some innings.

Lol. Yeah right, 7 out of 10.

Most of us feared that McCullers wouldn’t be sharp and expressed that fear and were right.

    Stop your crying.

c'mon joe, stop putting meyers and altuve back-to-back in the lineup.

let jake lead off and put paredes back at the 2.

Should have let Meyers lead off, if for no other reason than to make his steady climb up the batting order complete.

Tailon has struggled last 2 outings. Hopefully that trend continues today.

    our lineup is sad

Rea also struggled coming into yesterday. But yes we are due to destroy a subpar starter

I think Lances outing and Espadas poor managing took the wind out of the offenses sails

True. That 4th inning outburst definitely gave Rea confidence to attack the zone and it worked out for him.

Feeling good with a red-hot Framber on the mound today

I wouldn’t call him subpar. His WHIP is really good.

He's gonna be fine. I'm just pissed he injured himself with some freak accident. He was about to go on a serious roll. We all know when he's healthy he's a really good pitcher.

We need him. If he doesn't get injured, he'll be our 3rd best pitcher heading into the playoffs. Arrighetti gives us a really strong 4 man rotation.
