Nah he had already thrown 31 pitches and you don’t want Happ getting on to set up a chance for Tucker to tie the game. He should have sent Okert back out though like others said. Oh well really not a big deal.
- season-high 16 games above 500 - 2nd 5-game winning streak (season-high) - Cam is ballin (3-run HR, 2 walks, 0 Ks) - dominant pitching continues (sans Ort) - only 1.5 behind Hinch
Just baffling. It was all set up so perfectly. Okert pitches the 8th, Sousa the 9th. Hader takes a nap.
Yea not a huge deal. JMO but when the situation is right sometimes managers make moves to see if a guy will sink or swim and inserting Ort felt like that tonight......
I'm trying really hard to not get too excited about Cam Smith. His numbers this season are impressive enough for experience level. But when you factor in his recent performance, and the fact that there seems to be so much obvious power potential still untapped. It just screams potential superstar. He just seems to "get it" when you see his approach on both sides of the ball.
Espada, after the 7-19 start last year, has managed to a .5963 clip (.596 last year and .597 this year). So basically the Astros have been playing very consistently like a 97 win team since May of last season or over the last 218 games. and with all the injuries. It’s quite unbelievable
Astros a whopping 16 games over .500. Seattle, Texas and the Angels struggling just to get over .500.
