16-9 last 25 games. That's a 104 win pace. So we are actually playing really good ball believe it or not after the 8-10 start. And that includes those back to back to back Montero melt downs. Otherwise we would be looking at a 19-6 blistering pace.
Yahoo sports still has the game in the 9th with Chicago leading 6-5. The game was over an hour ago. Nothing like "real time" reporting.
Yahoo sports app is the worst for this. And I have Tucker on my Yahoo fantasy team, so I have to wait until whenever to see the stats updated.
Oh yeah it's like the Astros won twice tonight. Then throw in the Rangers bullpen meltdown. What a night.
Hell of a win The 3 bombs he gave up were BP pitches, 2 literally right down the middle and 1 in the inner-half happy zone
Bregman's sprint speed is essentially the same as Tucker's this season. Yeah, I didn't expect that either, nor Tucker and Yordan being so low. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/lead...023&max_season=2023&position=&team=HOU&min=10 It's far, far from a perfect metric for various reasons but I thought it was interesting.
Because he’s 3% below league average offensively and in general principal I’m opposed to that guy getting the most AB’s on the team.
Last I looked he and Pena had identical OPS+ Just say, "hey, we don't have a great option until Altuve comes back"
That’s fair. I really want Tuck #1 and Yordan #2, would be ok with Bregman leading off as well, but yeah- no options are awesome right now. I guess I like the guy who hits the ball harder and runs faster if I’m forced to choose.
For the sake of discussion of missing Brantley: LF/DH/CF total production McCormick/Meyers/Julks 277 ABs .253 35 R 7 HR 34 RBI That's nearly a half season of ABs when you combine the stats. Being in the mid 70s in runs scored and RBIs isn't the worst thing. Not sure if Brantley moves the needle much production wise from what we are getting thus far this season with essentially what we have had to replace him with.
Dubon's not much slower than Pena: one guy hits for more power, one guy gets on base more. As an aside: The "situation splits" as far as runners on are fun to play around with: https://www.espn.com/mlb/team/stats/_/name/hou/split/37/table/batting/sort/atBats/dir/desc Yordan's "nobody on vs runners on" splits are ludicrous, there's some other good one's too...like "why can't the Astros hit at home?"
