I think it has a lot to do with Bogey does a lot of things well. If I was making the decisions, it would be to bring Martinez up and part ways with Buck.

Bogusevic is a nearly ideal bench player. Left-handed, able to play all 3 OF positions (above average defense at either corner), has good speed, enough pop to be a home-run threat, & proven he can get big hits.

Perfect assesment, IMO....well played. My guess on F-Mart is that they are treating him like a prospect and bringing him along slowly. Sort of a "reboot" for him since the Mets pushed him along so quickly. I think it's a solid plan and that he'll be in the bigs before too long.

Wouldn't it be something if he turned back into a top-tier prospect like was forecasted when originally drafted....

While he fits the profile well and does above average on intangibles, I hope your not suggesting .218 .312 .306 cuts it.

The jury is still out (imo) on his getting big hits, if you add a qualifier (consistency).

The .218 doesn't cut it, but I'd expect Bogey's numbers long term to be closer to .250/.350/.400. Give or take.

I agree. In a 4th OF role, I think Bogusevic can be ideal. Just think he's overmatched as an everyday starter. Buck is the most likely to go, with Brian filling that role.

Did anyone think that homer from Reed Johnson looked like a foul ball?

I'd way rather have JD batting third than Buck.

You watching or following on Gamecast? Reason I ask, that was quite fortunate to say the least. But quite happy for JD - he's due for some good luck.

I'm listening to the Radio, and am waiting for the video to be uploaded. They definitely called those 2 gift runs.

    Yep.

I am stuck in Class watching gamecast. Good stuff regardless!

    What happened, though?

Video is up. Barney went sprinting out to RF, and he ran into DeJesus who would have caught the ball.

Lazy fly ball to shallow right... looked like RF was going to make the sliding catch, but 2B collided with him and ball bounced into the corner. Everyone scored and J.D. advanced to third. Not exactly a strong hit, but he made contact and went the opposite way on a tough pitch, so it's something. No matter what, the result was perfect. :)

Thats why making contact is so important. Sometimes you get lucky.

Cool. Hopefully, Wandy will make it stand up. He deserves some good luck himself.

Apparently Tags thinks so too. Was it even reviewed? Angle isn't very good on MLB's video other than to know it crossed on the foul side, but it might have barely hit it.

Since the Cubs still have 1 run, I think the call was upheld. Then again, I doubt they even reviewed it.

Also, nice flop from DeJesus. The ball didn't even touch him.

Great game by Wandy so far! Let Myers come in and close it if there are any signs of trouble.
