Keppinger saves Moehler to lead off the 2nd but Matsui can't do the same. Moehler looks awful. He's getting smashed.
To be fair, the Cubs had 3 broken bat singles off him in that one inning alone. No home runs, no shots to the gaps, no extra base hits (save for Lee's that was just out of Berkman's reach); the Cubs just hit 'em into the right spots. And just as I type that Moehler hits a batter, then Ramirez knocks one off the left field wall. The decision to DL Backe is looking a littler better.
The problem with Moehler is that he has no room for error. He has no stuff so he has to be perfect with his location and pitch selection. He doesn't have anything to bail him out when hes not locating. And now Ortiz gives up a 3-run HR... oh well...
After 2 innings, only Hill, Bradley and Lilly don't have a hit. Bradley was hit by a pitch though and Lilly just crushed one right to Berkman.
I missed them, I switched to the Spurs game. Then checked back just to find out I missed them. damnit.
