I think it has to do with having some many lefty batting one after the other. But screw that; Luke Scott has been wasted tonight.

What I don't get is that having too many lefty bats can really only hurt you in the late innings (when they start bringing in lefty relievers)... but to get to that point, you have to KNOCK OUT THE STARTING PITCHER.

If you don't ever do that, who cares about batting a bunch of lefties in a row. Frankly, this was a game that Lamb should have been playing in anyways... regardless of how Ensberg was doing... simply because the guy deserves at least one start every now and then, and Zambrano is tough on righties (while Morgan is better vs. lefties).

Yeah, fine as in 4 games under .500 fine...

This team has too many non performers on offense. Ensberg, Everett, Ausmus.

    And inconsistent performers...Biggio, Huff, Taveras...

There are only 2 guys that have been consistent hitters this year...TWO !!! and one of them just came up a month ago....

Berkman and Scott....the rest of the team is below par on offense.

You could argue tonight was a toss-up as Zambrano continually owns the Astros; so as long as the Astros win the series they'll be in good shape.

Were still a few games back with our terrible record. We can still win the division or get the wild card spot. Ofcourse, we will need clutch and timely hitting but were not facing Zambrano every night. By the way, Biggio and Taveras have been playing well. Ill be more than happy if we can just win 2 out of 3 so thats why I said we'll be fine if get the next 2.

You knew this was going to be a loss with Zambrano. Now we absolutely have to win the next 2. A loss tommorow night could be a devastating blow, same goes for Wednesday. We go out take 2 of 3 on the road from good SD and ARI teams, destroy the Bucos in a sweep, beat the Padres friday night and now we friggin fall apart, this team is so inconsistent.

Unbelievable. On this team, even possibly the fastest player in the league finds a way to hit into a double play.

Well, Zambrano dominated our inept offense. time to bring LAMB back, and sit down Morgan for a bit. Or something. I don't know, the offense just felt that much better out there with Lamb included.

I wonder if we can get anything from the Rockies for Preston. Or if they will just wait for him to be released.

    I knew it.

Look, we're not going to win every game from here on out, and the chances of us beating Zambrano were slim. Granted, he was wild and we had our chances (*cough* Ensberg *cough*), but 2 out of 3 in this series was always the realistic goal.

Of our 3 losses in a row, we lost a rookie's ML debut (Hirsh), a game we probably should've won (Backe's start), and a game to one of the best pitchers in the league who owns us (Zambrano). I really don't think it's the beginning of the end.

Now if we don't win both of the next two games at home, I'll panic too.
