Oh no. I don't the season is over at all. It's definitely in worse psychologically tonight than it was last night, but it is definitely not over. We are still very much in it. St. Louis is sucking it up now and we will be 4 behind Cincy after tonight.

We can do it guys. The Astros just need to learn from their mistakes, which they do not seem to do.

On a personal note, I DO NOT WANT TO SEE LIDGE PITCH FOR THIS TEAM. Right now, I don't care if he has an epiphany tomorrow. Let him have an epiphany with another team. I am more than willing to kick my own ass in regret when he tortures us pitching for another team. I don't want to see him out there. Not for my sake and more importantly, not for his. The team played an extra game tonight in a losing effort because of Lidge. A bad streak is one game or two games or a couple of weeks. When it's a season-long thing, there is a problem. Solve the problem or get rid of it. It's obvious that the Astros can't fix it. If you can't fix it, dump it.

Exactly, it felt like we had a man on every single inning. And a couple of times with them in scoring position (bases loaded etc.).

    Ugh.

Seriously, somebody needs to beat Ensberg's ass for attempting to hit Major League pitching while doing that ridiculous dance in the batter's box. If that were me, and I saw me on tape, I'd be embarrassed.

I find it kinda funny that we are willing to let Preston walk, when he never really lost a game for us (he might not have contributed to winning, but he doesn't lose games for you). Lidge, however, loses games for us.

My main problem is that we are now 4 behind Cinci, 3 behind SD, 2-3 behind Arizona, Colorado. At some point we have to pass some teams because even if we go on a streak we are not likely to pass all these teams as one of them is going to also go on a streak.

Its definitely not over, but if we can't get past a couple of those teams in the next couple weeks, then it will be over a lot sooner than most of us want.

He didn't actually say that, did he?

(I read that he was pissed tonight, and I figure it's possible that he might said something along those lines).

people stop smoking the ****. The season is over. We don't have a closer, our starters are very inconsistent and our bullpen, good today, usually sucks!! If our pitching isn't good than their isn't a comeback waiting to happen.

It is reality. Last couple of years, our pitching has been excellent. However this year is different, we aren't hitting and our pitching sucks!!!

    If i'm roger . . . next start I don't leave the pitchers mound. If Garner comes out to yank me after 90 pitches . . . 80 pitches . . . 6 innings . . . whatever . . . i get in his face . . . i pitch a fit . . . i throw some punches . . . but i will be on the mound till the last out of the ninth inning.

Wow. I can't remember more kick in the gut losses then by this team this year. The Astros are toast. Say it with me. What momentum they built up has been lost and lost in disgusting fashion.

I totally agree. I don't know if my anger is misdirected at Lidge, but this should have been a win and would have been had it not been for him. 6 runs is more than adequate run support for Clemens. Clemens can't complain that we didn't give him enough offense. But once again, this team finds a way to lose.

It's not over, but it's getting close. It's totally realistic to expect the Stros to win 2 out of 3 against the Cubbies, and now it seems as if we might get swept. The Astros need to win the games they are supposed to win. If they can't do that, this season is over.

I just noticed Berkman went 0-6 with 3ks. That's ugly.
