That was our chance to serve full blood wad on them, & we failed. We don't usually win games like this, but hey ... 'tever.
I don't care that Everett had a big triple in this game. His bat in the lineup is much more a negative than his glove a positive. I'd play just about anyone over him.
i konw 2-0 is a great count, but after the guy just threw 2 in the dirt, you gotta watch the next pitch and see if you can coax the walk. cuz Lord knows the astros aren't going to actually get a hit with the bases loaded. on a side note, do we have the fewest sac flies in the majors or something? i mean when someone is on 3rd it becomes physically impossible for us to get the ball into the outfield in the air. it just doesn't happen. ground ball and pop-up with the bases loaded. gorgeous.
why am i wishing that lance or luke shoulda took a wild swing at one of those balls . . . seems like that would have been a better move than letting bozo pop up to end the inning
Yeah lets walk one of the fastest guys in the league to lead off the inning ... seeems like we've done that all year
Uh...a squeeze with only 1 out......and the bases loaded is a GREAT play....helluva lot better than a ground ball to 1b. DD
That inning is entirely on Aubrey Huff. 2-0 count, you know what's coming. Fastball right down the pipe. There's no guessing involved. Don't risk it trying to line it or hit it hard. Get under the ball, put it in the air, and get it to the outfield, especially with a fast runner on third. It was his responsibility to get height on the ball in that situation and he failed miserably. It should've been absurdly easy given the pitcher and the count.
