eh, you figured it was due lol. least the rest of the inning, lidge looked relatively in control though :]
I've given up on Lidge. He has to become a middle reliever and must be replaced as a closer. He's lost something, or the league has figured him out. Either way, the team is doomed with him as a closer. Who should be the new closer? That's Phil's and Tim's decision!
His main job as closer is to save games...and he's saved 20-23. That's better than Wags and Izzy. I could care less if he gives up a meaningless run in a blowout game.
Great game. I finally got to watch Pettite win one. Here's some pics for anybody who wants some wallpaper...
Thanks for the pix, JunkyardDwg. I've been wanting a nice shot of the field for my desktop. Those are perfect.
Looks like so far the team has gone into offensive hibernation against a pitcher they should've already piled some runs on. They've had their opportunities.
The lineup does get weaker when you sub out Lamb for Lane. Also, Lance (while a pretty damn good right-handed hitter), hasn't looked that comfortable in his AB's so far (with ducks on the pond for all of them). Prove me wrong, Lance.
I actually think they're trying to force the action too much, instead of letting Marshall pitch himself out of the game (like he did when we beat him in Chicago). Marshall has been wild tonight, walking the likes of Ensberg a couple of times... and going to 3-ball counts on several batters. Then again, he did lose 1-0 to Sampson at MMP the last time he pitched here.
