If McNair won't pony up for Cowher, he's probably won't pony up for Gruden either.

No, the story as I understand it at the time was Kubiak said to Casserly something to effect that we needed someone to help us beat the Colts, that it to take Mario in this case, Casserly agreed and they went to McNair who said let's get him signed. This was how John McClain relayed the story at the time. However, Casserly did vigorously defend the pick after some blow back.

I was wondering how Smiak would go down if the bullets started to fly, looks like Smith is selling out his "boy" and McNair is going to fall for it.

Barry Warner just broke the news that Rick Smiths will be retained and texans preliminary list includes
    Troy Calhoun
    Sherman
    Raiders OC : Hue Jackson

barry warner is a blowhard that is full of it. however, if there is any truth to this then we are screwed as texans fans and might as well pick another team to root for.

don't do it. that's what he is trying to do.

i actually called in to rip him a new one at one point and the screener laughed saying that was how barry got people listening and it obviously worked with me. i immediately hung up and changed the station.

610 is the texans flagship station, they are basically confirming what barry is saying. maybe its true?

how is 610 confirming it? by letting him state it?

if anything, as the "flagship" if they are pushing the company line then that line is currently that Kubiak is the coach of the texans and there is no discussion of alternatives until that changes.

Rick Smith being brought back is a nightmare scenario.

    This team needs

    1. a house cleaning
    2. a championship caliber head coach

    This team does not need

    1. Rick Smith
    2. an unproven head coach

Don't screw this up you old geezer!

Well bad news perhaps. Lance Z just on. He too heard about the Texans and Calhoun/Jackson.

    Paraphrasing here:

I had gotten something because I was told Hue Jackson and Troy Calhoun. When I was told that - it seemed so stupid. I thought to myself, I wont go with this on Twitter. This is outrageous. Not possible. Barry has it today. Are we talking to similar people? I had this about 1:30 and thought it was irresponsible. I cant imagine those 2 guys at the top of ANY coaching list. In that regard, barry might be hearing same stuff from same people I have.

Jackson would be a Rick Smith hire, not McNair. Jackson not ready to lead a team for has missed playoffs for 9 years now.

Disgusting of Rick Smith to sell Kubiak down the river. This was the guy who brought you in.

I'm literally stunned that after NINE years of futility, Bob McNair would even consider going this route. Hue freakin' Jackson??? Another OC...and a worse coordinator than Kubes ever was?!?

    REALLY?!? Bob McNair???

Seriously wtf, Rick Smith needs to go. Its really depressing to go from hearing talks of Cowher to Sherman, Calhoun, and Jackson. Sigh

This would be worse then any of Uncle D's screw ups. Uncle Bob is going down the Al Davis path right here.
