Who's with me on the bench Wilson and start Nolan bandwagon? Troy looked really good in preseason and I can understand maybe wanting a vet to help out the young corners but Wilson is garbage.

This is the NFL, losses happen. We have a ton of work to do but I feel pretty good about the rest of the season with starting out 2-1. A win next week will put us in great position going into the bye. The Texans got flat beat today and our defense has a lot to improve on. Yeah it sucks, but we were not going to go 16-0. As Voltaggio would say, relax relax reeeelax.

I wouldn't be opposed to it, but that is not gonna solve any problem that Kareem Jackson is causing.

Your team is 1-2. You cant call them the better team yet.

Also you are on a Houston board? What do you expect? Seriously?

Nolan is a SS I believe.

Not sure if we have many options at FS, which is a shame as it seems Wilson drops an INT at least once a game.

    Nolan is a FS

I would almost insert him there just to create turnovers. He was good in the preseason at doing this and he was known in college for creating turnovers

I don't need to "make" your favorite football team look bad. They have done a good job in week 1 and 2, AND had to pull out the "players only meeting" to get this W. I can't help it if your team is overrated and overhyped, AND a .500 football team trying to pass off as a SB contender.

yeah and they lost to an unranked team that they were suppose to beat, underachieving and mailing in the W before the game is played, it actually is Cowgirls related if you think about it.

no, you expect the cowgirls to play like this every game?

afraid to say that the Texans aren't on their schedule anymore this year, will have to get up for games some other way (without having to resort to player only meetings)

What I saw on the football field today was a team taking complete control and showing that they are a better football team.

I will give the Texans a lot of credit because they were able to do something the Cowboys weren't (beat the Redskins), both of them were close games that came down to the wire. And when you put both of these teams on the same field, Dallas was able to handle the football game.

That's not to say the Texans are not a good football team and that they played to their entire potential today (they didn't)... I just think today showed Dallas is the better football team.

I understand that... and I also understand the dislike for everything Cowboys, but it just seems really foolish to come on here after a loss like that and automatically try to make the Cowboys look bad.

Are you from Houston? I find it more foolish that someone not from Dallas roots for the Cowgirls

Yes, I agree. Dallas proved they were the better team for today. But i'm not ready to concede bragging rights just yet. Afterall the Texans used to suck and after we beat a good team we could never get away with say "We are the better team." because well our record sucked.

I don't really hate the Cowboys. I hope they win their next game against Tennesse and I honestly don't care if they are playing the Eagles or whatever, it has no effect on the Texans. It is fun to see them lose because of all that goes on there, in the same way it's fun to see the Lakers or Yankees lose though.

I could see if it's the Mavs, they are directly in our division. The Cowboys after this game can only help us out by beating AFC opponents so meh.

    Crappy game for the Texans.

But it still feels good to be 2-1, 3 games into the season with Cushing coming back in 2 weeks.

Back from the game, my take:

You have to lay some blame at the feet of Cushing and Brown. They weren't out because of some bad luck injury or fluke. They cheated*, got caught, and hurt the team with their actions. We needed Cushing against Witten. We needed Brown for the run game and pass protection. Their absences were big factors in the loss.

Related, playcalling was awful. Brown's absence had them terrified to run left, and 1st downs became painfully predictable. Playcalling in both redzone opportunities was dubious. Foster is an openfield runner, not a bruiser. Play to your strengths.

Intensity, especially on offense, was pathetic. They really looked like they spent the week listening to the hype and figured the game was theirs if they showed up.

D-Line was okay, I was fine with the pressure they managed. Would have loved more, but Barwin is gone and they haven't reloaded the gun. Looks like Ogunleye and Denney aren't coming in to save the day. Schobel's the last straw to grasp.

Winston owes the team and fans an apology. Classic "did he just wake up?" game.

For those counting, that's 2 D- games sandwiching a lone A+ game for Schaub.

Lot of folks pounding on Jackson, but he is what he is. The Texans made a conscious decision that to draft a hitter not known for his coverage skills at CB (which would replace Dunta evenly). They have a strong safety also who is 80% about hitting and 20% coverage. Quin and McCain are fine, but Wilson is borderline washed up at cover safety. Don't bring in a ballhawk, choose to bring in hitters instead, this is what you get.

Dallas played their usual sloppy low IQ game today, and we let them get confident and enjoy all the momentum. I'm prepared for losses, sometimes you get beat. But I'm never okay seeing a team trot out and lay an egg. This game was there for the taking, but the offense was terrible. The defense actually played fine until Dallas started feeling good about themselves in the 3rd quarter.

It's too bad last week didn't wake them up. Washington is a mediocre team and they carved us up. You can't play games like it's practice, and that's what they did today.

Several folks are playing the "who cares, it's one loss" card - but crapping away games that should have been wins is EXACTLY how the Texans wasted a soft schedule last year and missed the playoffs. This year, their schedule is tough as nails. There's almost no cushion in a 16 game season to blow winnable games. The Texans need to slightly overachieve to get 10 wins this year. Starting off 2-0 was a great start in that direction. But the schedule after the bye is unforgiving. They're not going to be an 8-win team if they play like this. Hopefully we see some leadership emerge.

    Evan

    * - trust me, I fully believe 70% of the league uses or has used steroids/HGH. At least Duane Brown isn't lying about it like a child.
