Paul Mirengoff calls Booker this election cycle's sleeper": "Booker might catch fire or he might go up in flames. I don’t know which, but I’m convinced he will be well worth watching." Interesting essay.

Vegan Booker wants to use the power of the state to coerce people to become vegan. He's lost my vote.

While claiming he does not want to lecture Americans on their diets, Booker says Americans need to be nudged into fake cheese because the planet cannot sustain the "environmental impact" of the food industry.

"You see the planet earth moving towards what is the Standard American Diet," Booker said. "We've seen this massive increase in consumption of meat produced by the industrial animal agriculture industry."

"The tragic reality is this planet simply can't sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact," he said. "It's just not possible."

There is a real disconnect between a "Spartacus moment" and a mandatory arugula salad, mos def.
Congrats on the smoking work. B-Bob give thumbs up.

Do I also see a digital scale (upper left) and a pizza stone (right)?

By the way: the fact that this is more interesting to me than Corey Booker is probably not a great sign for his campaign. But maybe old liberal guy is not his intended base.

This is a strong position for one running for President to take. Seems like it would alienate a lot of voters. I liked him better when he was disclosing non-confidential documents.

Did I hear correctly that Cory Spartacus Booker is a vegan? If true, then that's the last straw. He's now lost my vote.

    GOOD DAY

I saw this vegan mess on TV today …. Dude , don't presidential candidates have something better to do that bother us about what we eat ?! Like world peace or healthcare issues ?

Stop with the taxing of cow farts and faux cheese …. lets use a little common sense.

I swear the green new deal & this is the kinda stuff the Dems are gonna run on , we'll end up with 4 more years of that orange idiot. They need to go back to the drawing board -

Unfortunately, they don't. We have nearly two years of this non-stop, "BREAKING: Cheese?" style coverage ahead of us. Strap in.

Yep. Some years ago, Booker voted against a bill (supported by your bff Cruz, lol) that would make it legal for US citizens to purchase meds from Canada.

Forget about "forcing" people to become vegan, that's just a scare tactic to avoid the problem. Let's simply talk about less meat/dairy consumption.

Less meat consumption is a point that will be increasingly talked about due to climate change and resource overuse/scarcity.

People freak out and yell about how overpopulated we are all the time, about how we can't sustain our energy needs with our 7-8 billion population... well we keep over 20 billion farm animals (pigs, cows, chicken, sheep) alive at all times of the year for our consumption. From a greenhouse emission per calorie standpoint, meat is by far the worst of all major food groups as well. Let's say you think global warming is fake (please don't though), the pollution, water use, land use is undeniably a major problem.

You don't have to like vegan people, you don't* have to be vegan, no problems. But you can't deny that human consumption of meat at this rate is and will continue to be a real problem *considering* our energy, pollution, and resource problems, without some major technological advancement in our energy sector, super high meat consumption will be a problem.

Also, I don't like Corey Booker lol. Just interested in this point.
