Of course they will end up being more balanced. They're not going to be rushing for 250+ every game. Just so happens the Colts could never stop it today, so the Texans kept running it. I was afraid that the Texans would come out in the 3rd quarter and try to re-establish the passing game. I mentioned that I wish they had ran the ball to death on the drive that Schaub ended up throwing the pick b/c the Colts seemed to have no way to stop it. Kudos to Kubiak/Dennison for recognizing this and changing the gameplan to reflect that. Leach is just as important as the rest of the O-line. He's also important in blocking pass rushers. I agree that the Texans can't afford to lose him to overuse.
I think it will be. Even if we continue running it down someone's throat, the opposition will still always be thinking "Schaub, Johnson, Daniels" in the back of their mind anyway. It's nice to finally have a ground option that will work well because of the worry of the Schaub/Johnson connection. Vonte Leach was the most important player on the field today, behind Foster. He was excellent.
At some point, drafting at the top of the draft has to pay off, and when young teams finally figure out how to win, they usually win big. Maybe the Texans are there. I think that the Texans and Titans are a lot better than folks think and that Indy is due for a fall.... But...hey...I am just enjoying the day. DD
Colts O-Line = Fail or at least Failing. D-Line is about the Pass Rush - not stopping the run. It would not shock me if The Texans or Titans sweep them leaving the Colts to go 3-3 in the Division While Peyton gets a ton of credit . .. much of it deserved the personality of Indy is . . similar to the Dungy Defensive philosphy. Bend but don't break. Wait for the other team to make a mistake then stomp that *ss Peyton plays mistake free the defense is opportunistic They win. not pretty wins . .. but wins. This is why their defense is always ranked low Team move the ball between the 20s well against them then in the red zone. . THEY DOn'T BREAK well . .. nowadays it may not be as true as in years past Rocket River
The guys on NFL Network BELIEVE in the Houston Texans! <iframe class="youtube-player" type="text/html" width="1280" height="745" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OlaDj8bNeBQ" frameborder="0"></iframe>
I live in L.A., and when the Texans usually get a huge win over an opponent, they're pretty much scanned over... but they've been getting a lot of attention on the local sports news today!
Wow, 900+ posts. This game was much bigger for Houston than it was for Indy and it showed. We flat out embarrassed their defense and that won the game. Our defense was better but the Colts were still marching down the field, they are just really good. We won this game by keeping Peyton Manning on the sidelines.
It's like they were all on the edge, just waiting for the Texans to make the next step in order to give them praise. I hope we continue this kind of play next week....and the rest of the season....although I really want to beat down the Cgirls. Fun win.
