So - what will be the COLT's Apologist message for today? O-Line? I think they will need to reevaluate their Defense more than anything. The Tampa -2 They use relys on quick LBs/DB getting to the runners The problem with that is .. it gives up alot of run yards. The idea being that if Peyton can get you ahead .. . you can outpace the other team. However - Like Nebraska Vs Miami back in the day . . . Speed can simple be bulled over . . .again and again and again . A Crushing Ground game will make the Texans contenders for more than just the playoffs. Rocket River

The Texans finally have the talent on O-line to make Kubiak's offense make any RB look like a god. Also, Rick Dennison is an UPGRADE at OC for fundamentals, improving the ground game, and ultimately for the red zone offense from Kyle Shannahan. Sure, Shannahan was the architectch of our WR screens, and our successful play-actions... but Dennison calls more of a complete game.
When was your draft? July? I would move to a league that has a later draft date... like after the first pre-season game.
What a win!! Foster is the real deal, he's the perfect one cut and go back. We can't forget about Barwin and his leg though. He is a big part of our D-line and defense in general, we came out with our guys constantly moving around on the line before the snap to cause confusion and his versatility was a big part of that. I don't know if guys like Nading can be relied on to execute such looks and when Cody is in there he's just a waste of space. Our line did play exceptionally well though! Here's to an 11-5 AFC South Champ season
Good observation. Kubiak is obviously heavy involved in the offense but Dennison is basically the running game coordinator and Greg Knapp is the passing game coordinator.
I don't know what's the best thing about this win? How about the fact that our passing game was the worst aspect of the team today? (which is likely our biggest strength). Or the fact that its one less game till Cushing comes back? Or the fact that its one less "tough opponent" left on our schedule? Or the fact that Mario Williams is in line to have a career year, and single-handedly kept this defense from giving up 40 points today.
Put this statement up in lights. This is the one and only reason that I have been made a believer today. Digest this, the Colts were in the Superbowl last season. They have more wins in the last several years than just about anybody. The Texans offensive line and the fullback (what's his name) crushed them like a tank rolling over an ice cream cone. This is not insignificant. We know that the Texans can throw the ball. What we didn't know is that Foster and his blockers are a battering ramp. While the defense got lit up on occasion, it's Peyton Manning, he lights up everybody, they were at least decent. Who can stop BOTH the run and the pass when the other team does both extremely well? Answer, not too many teams. I'm impressed for the first time since the Oilers left.
