This league is a complete and utter joke. It's really almost impossible to enjoy it with how they treat the QBs. It's certainly not football.
right, dude missed 2 very long FGs that are not a sure thing for ANY NFL team. But sure, lets put it all on him.
Completely agree...but by the same token, the players know the rules...and stupid penalties like that are killer.
the first one was a p***y ass penalty call. the 2nd one was a legit personal foul just because of NFL rules.
You're also leaving out the one he missed in the third quarter. Sorry, if you're an NFL kicker, you don't miss three field goals of under 50 yards against your top two rivals in consecutive games, especially when two of them are with everything on the line. Completely unacceptable.
I feel so bad for Matt Schaub. Against the Titans, he does everything Vince did and then some, but Vince has a kicker that nails 53 yarders right down the middle, while Schaub has Kris Brown. Against the Colts, he's doing everything Manning does and then some... but he has Andre f'n Johnson dropping point blank touchdowns (in his lap) in the end zone, while Manning has Pierre f'n Garcon hauling in absurd one-handed catches.
He has ONE JOB, and not to perform that ONE JOB is on him. 40 plus yard field goals are something NFL kickers SHOULD make, they aren't easy but they are professionals who are specialists who get paid to make those
The first one was for a block on the return, not for hitting Manning. The second one was a foul by the letter of the law, but nothing egregious!
AJ caught a ball in the end zone falling forward. Ball popped out when he hit the ground. Kubes challenged it was a catch. AJ never made a "football move" though before hitting the ground, so it was ruled incomplete.
He's been up and down over the course of the season, but I've been very impressed with him the past two weeks - keep in mind, he was the guy that hit Manning's arm and forced the pick. The good thing and the bad thing is that he's a bulldog - he plays with fire, and when you couple that with a league that treats its quarterbacks like little girls, it's a bad combination. I know the rules are inherently arbitrary, but it's hard for me to fault him for that.
