wow sage had it real tough at the end there. geezus...he was running in throwing formation when a defender is bearing down on him from behind. he's lucky he didn't lose his arm and head with the ball. unbelievable. sucks cause you'll had it. tough luck.
In retrospect, it's unfortunate he didn't get injured, because then he wouldn't have been able to fumble the ensuing time and then throw the pick.
Yea, I once thought that with the Oilers as it becamse obvious they'd never win the big one (punctuated by going 2-14 post Moon).... but those years without NFL football were more painful than this. This is just unfortunate... damn unfortunate. Unfortunate that this franchise has made so many poor decisions. Unfortunate that the decisions made to correct those poor decisions are now starting to look questionable. Unfortunate that their best player (Mario Williams) was actually booed/ridiculed before he even set foot on the field... while their worst player (Carr) was handed a Sports Illustrated cover before he set foot on the field. Unfortunate that they built a retractable roof stadium that apparently couldn't withstand hurricaine winds (even though it was supposed to), and is a stadium that fans prefer to keep closed because there is virtually no circulation when its 84 degrees and sunny outside. Unfortunate that since the Texans inception, the Cowboys have been torn down, re-built, tweaked, and re-tooled again into a year-in/year-out playoff team all within the time its taken the Texans to draft just one o-lineman with a first round pick. Despite all these events... I'd still rather have a team and follow their ineptitude (and sometimes even spend $$$ to watch it), rather than not.
i imagine i will end up watching the texans more this season... but i can't imagine spending one single dime on this team anytime soon. call me fairweather...whatever. i'm a 4th generation houstonian. this is my team, and i'm stuck with them. but i don't have to like it...and i don't have to give them a red cent. that's my own private shot at "the man."
Artest should play quarterback. I bet he's better than Rosenfels. Either that or bring Artest in the Texans' locker room so he can punch somebody
I would truly love to know what we did to the football gods to piss them off so much. I honestly cannot believe what I just saw.
made u feel better??? that was like reading edgar allen poe!! bleak. everything this franchise has done has failed. except that people are waiting in line to buy tickets...which absolutely baffles me.
when you feel that crappy and like you want to puke, you can only go up.. most things won't even do that. But a reminder that we didn't have a team for those in-between years.. yeah helped a bit.
Didn't the Texans pass up a chance to trade this clown for a 3rd round pick? In any case, all that's left is to start a Texans draft thread, so we can begin speculating on which player we draft number one.
ah...got it. yeah, i prefer having a team, too. i just wish it was an NFL team (rim shot!!) thank you...i'm here all night. remember to tip your waitress.
It depresses me that the Rockets, a franchise that knows how to put together good competitive teams year in and year out, does not even receive half the attention that these Texans do. Its horrible and disrespectful to a more deserving franchise.
Just like every other year. We spend more time talking about potential draft picks than our team's play on the field.
Most long-time Houstonians would share in your sentiment... hence the label has being labeled a "fair-weather" town (which is really not a bad thing... there's nothing fixed here, with the translplants + young teams, that this city should support its teams any other way). Unfortunately, the only team this city has that somewhat breaks that mold is the Astros... probably because they've been here the longest.... and even then, that's mainly now because of the affordability and experience that Minute Maid Park provides (if this year's team played in the Astrodome, they likely don't average more than 20 thousand during the last week... rather than sellouts during the last weekend series when they were already eliminated). Which is really the separating factor from the east-coast vs. the mid-west/south/west-coast. Longevity. Those teams have been there forever, and their fans have had tickets passed down from generation to generation. They've all had seasons/stretches just as bad as the Texans have had... but they've been around so long, they have the success as well that will always bring you back. The Texans had nothing to bring the fans to them other than the fact that they were an NFL team in Houston. Then, they've compounded that by making terrible decisions and not progressing at all in 7 years. I don't blame anybody for jumping off this ship... perhaps even an east-coast town would do the same, had they ever had an expansion team before to have to root for.
