Texans should avoid the FOX channel like the plague. That's the only times they've lost so far, it's when they are televised on FOX. Great win for the Texans but a terrible price with Ryans out. As soon as I saw him go down, I knew he was done for the season. This team cannot afford any more injuries as it is. I really thought they'd make it to the Super Bowl when they had their team together before the Connor Barwin injury. Now, I'm just hoping they make the play-offs at least.
The Colts made the SB with a very young group at CB last year. We give too much cushion to WRs, they catch a slant and gain 15 before we can make a plauy; it isn't working this way so go ahead and put the guys up there in press coverage and see if they can disrupt a ruote or two: and while we're at it how about sending more than 4 once in a while, how bout some zone dog stuff, the line has to getting bored just rushing 4 everytime. Jazz it up a bit, it can not get any worse on that side of the ball.
agreed. what's the difference between a 9 play TD drive and a 1 play TD drive? time of possession. what we're doing on defense isn't working. might as well send a blitz more than once a game.
Ugh... so true. Every third and short was a piece of cake of Cassel. I saw at least 10 short completions where our cover man wasn't in the same zip code. It was unbelievable that we didn't make any kind of adjustment during the game.
during the game? try during the season. They been playing cushin soft zone all year. Corners never have a chance to make a play ont eh ball. SWITCH UP FOR GOODNESS SAKE BUSH. Its all bush's fault
I was going to say the same thing. Every single game has been zone coverage. Opposing teams make a short gain turn into either a touchdown or a monster gain. Our players are a good 5 to 10 yards away from the receiver making the catch. It's sickening to watch.
Here's the one thing that keeps it from being an unmitigated disaster - we lost a defender from a squad handing out 24 points to anyone that suits up and 28 on average. Had we lost a key guy on offense (Schaub), season over. OVER. Only way we win right now is scoring over 30. All our eggs are in that basket. Thank god we didn't lose someone on that side of the ball.
Of course during the season as well. I was just dumbfounded when we were on defense. We have to let them try to play man coverage.
no offense but, do u like look up any stats at all before making comments??? Cassel threw for 201 yards.. that is a career day? against the niners THIS year he threw for 250 and had 3 tds ... in the games he started for patriots ..he AVERAGED 230 yards per game .. this wasnt even the best game of THIS season much less a career day ..
just to throw more stats out there .. with the pats he had games of 415, 400, 345 yards ... all with 3 TDs .. all those games I THINK are better than this one
Couldn't agree more. If we could just get a little more pressure on the QB, it would help out our secondary more. It's not entirely their fault, either, that they're put in crappy coverages.
And I can put together a montage of calls that were just as bad that have gone against the Texans. Flowers had a right to be upset but hey, AJ is a hall of famer. Deal with it. Stop all the theatric yelling and whining.
There are far more blatant cases of offensive and defensive PI that occur in every single game that go uncalled. I have no statistical evidence but I would guess that there is some form of contact that could in the most technical sense be called PI on at least 50% of plays. AJ barely nudged the guy and almost surely makes the catch either way given that the ball was thrown over his right shoulder and he already had inside positioning. Flowers gripes for 5 seconds and lets it go if not for his team seeing the game slip away. He was upset about that more than anything.
Who is yelling and who is whining? All I said I think it's funny that people think Flowers shouldn't be mad. Anyone in his position would be pissed. If they never had thrown the flag out it wouldn't be a big deal. But the refs called a PI on him for nothing so if the refs thought whatever he did was pass interference worthy than what Johnson did should have definitely been Pass Interference worthy. I didn't know there was a rule saying we couldn't discuss controversy excuse me.
