I mean, they do have better coaching and team culture, but they also have a young breakout superstar who is leading them to actually pick up wins, which helps a lot with the whole "having fun" thing. Give our guys another year or two to break out and hopefully we'll have the same.
What culture are you talking about? All their players are new just like the Rockets. All the players who were part of KD-Harden-WB culture are gone. Even the coaching staff is different the only holdover are Presti and his FO. The only difference is their fanbase is more patient and don't overwhelm their players with toxicity. Chet broke his legs on a non contact injury but gets much less hate than Green for painting his nails. Even last year when OKC was one of the worst teams in the L nobody was really giving their team **** thats why players can have fun. OTH on our team all the players get toxicity thrown to them on the daily so what do you expect. Even Jabari got so much hate thrown to him not even 1 yr on his rookie season lol.
We had 3 years to get rid of Silas hahaha but in reality we embraced the tank and didn't disclose there was no legit coach lining up for the job..... 3-4 years is too much of a waste to be dealing with Silas. The surprising part or not surprising part depending if you thought of it, is Harden is more interested in the team than a real coach would be.
It's mainly because Jalen and Jabari were top 3 picks, that just comes with superstar expectations. Also, both were considered #1 overall level talent. They just have not broken out. Guys like Giddey and Jalen Williams were picked lower in the draft and are seen as guys meeting or exceeding expectations. But, yea, if the Rockets get a Wemby or some other rookie that breaks out as a star all of a sudden everyone will flip. A star will make all of our young guys look better.
Giddey is taken no 6 thats not exactly low pick lol. Chet Holmgren was taken higher than Jabari and didnt even play 1 sec in the NBA but somehow still gets less hate than Jabari. Jalen and Jabari havent broken out, but remember Presti is the one who gave away Sengun last year, drafted Chet this year and also doent a lotto pick on Dieng who looks like a bust so far. But very few OKC fans are hating on Presti and OKC players, even last year they lost almost as much as Rox but OKC fans were still pretty chill. Everyone call Fertita cheap and worst owner in sports but all he really did is refuse to pay Trevor Ariza who hasnt really done anything since he left. OKC owner refused to pay freaking James Harden and OKC fans are still chill about it. Rockets fans though are extremely toxic and send a lot of hate thru the entire organization from owner to players. No wonder OKC players have a lot more fun than Rockets players. Rox fans are just some of the more toxic and complaining fanbased I've seen, which is crazy cuz the only titles Rox have is 2 from Hakeem. Despite that the fansbase is as entitled as Celtics and Lakers fans.
If we get Wemby this year, Nix should get a statue outside Toyota center. He's been a valuable contributor to the rockets' plans.
Looking forward to seeing Chet on the floor but my gut is telling me he's going to have another serious injury
This league, man. They test Dame for steroids after shredding Houston's world class defense but Chet is walking around looking like the Hulk and not a peep from the nba office.
