I don't think Osweiler has the football IQ to run O'Brien's system. He seems to do a bit better when they're in hurry up mode and he's not trying to make all these adjustments at the line. I think it just overwhelms him. That would also explain why he was better in Kubiak's system where the QB has less control and fewer things to worry about.
Brock is hard to watch anymore. He takes all the fun out of watching the Texans. Our defense was really disappointing too. I expected more from us today, and am at the point of wanting to see Osweiller get benched. He is killing us with turnovers and inconsistency.
Maybe this stupid system only works for someone like Brady. Simplify it Bill!!!!!! It hasn't worked for any quarterback we have had.
Our receivers suck our qb sucks so the team sucks..but it can all be solved if our qb could be more accurate
SAvage must start next game, its unconcievable if savage doesnt start after this horrid performance by brock
Its not the system. Brock simply sucks at throwing the football. Most of his passes are inaccurate. It doesn't matter what plays you dial up if the QB just can't make the throws.
Or, you know, it works if you have a competent QB. We haven't quite tried that yet. While not great, this offense was a lot better with Fitz and Hoyer. That's how bad Brock is. Hoyer had run the offense before and Fitz is a smart guy. Can't really say either about Brock.
I don't think it's the system, but his inability to run the system is definitely part of it. But yeah, he's the most inaccurate Texans QB that I can recall. He flat out misses the receiver way too much and even when it's "on target" (I use that term loosely), the placement is usually awful. He can't hit a moving receiver, especially not on a crossing route. The first INT, the receiver was open but instead of throwing it to the sideline, he throws it 5 yards back into the field of play. Receiver has to slow down, defender catches up, and what at worst should've been an incomplete pass now becomes an INT. On the positive side, at least you knew what he was trying to do on his INT's this week unlike some of those throws he made right to defenders in the Oakland game.
He is right, but the defense was bad too. Stupid penalties and not enough pressure on Rivers. Rivers just passed his way down the field. Sure, the offense never gave us a chance, but the defense has nothing to brag about.
