I don't understand why people are so upset about the passes in the redzone. We've ran the ball PLENTY this game. And really, that catch by Foster should have been a TD, but the NFL has some dumb rules.
I don't know if they showed this on TV... but to me, the worst part of the Foster saga was the role the SD coaching staff played in it. The review had not been called, but officials allowed the SD coaching staff all over the field and would not let the Texans snap the ball! Might have been able to beat the review if the officials didn't delay the Texans' ability to line up and kick.
Yeah it's stupid... all of this because one official screwed up with the Calvin Johnson call... and I'm pretty sure they've been told to call it the same for any similar plays... guys have ran into the end zone untouched and dropped the ball a millisecond after they break the plane of the endzone and it's okay... they need to address that in the offseason for sure
But the play you're describing above is DIFFERENT. Those are plays where the receiver has already made a catch outside of the endzone. Basically the inconsitencies lies in that this would have been a catch outside of the endzone, but once you're in the endzone, you can't let the ball hit the ground for it to be a TD.
He makes unbelievable cuts regardless. He is just fast enough, elusive enough, and powerful enough to be close to unstoppable. He's the perfect balance. You make him a little faster, and maybe he doesn't let the holes develop as well. you make him more elusive, and maybe he jukes himself out of a big gain. He's the perfect balance right now.
Funny he said the best way to stop Rivers is to keep on the sideline with his helmet off. Funny, thats the same way we beat the Colts in week 1
