    Some PS3 News

In game XMB coming to PS3...soon.

No idea what "soon" means. They didn't want to elaborate much but who knows. Maybe it will be in the next firmware update.

Little Big Planet made some good impressions.

Release date has been set to September. It'll be interesting in how this functions socially with HOME. Could see it as a fun easy springboard when people just meet.

Speaking of home, no word afaik. That's not a good sign.

Guess it is good that the tech is finally hitting the market, but I'm not really too excited about a 11" display that costs $2500 (unless I got my facts wrong). I understand the reasoning, but ouch.

I guess that's one way to look at it, although I'd probably not worry about it too much (at least not solely because it didn't make an appearance at CES). Sony doesn't usually show too much from the gaming side at CES. Seems like they just pushed LBP a bit, which was probably easier than showing the latest on Home or whatever.

FWIW, I read one article that said the Fall release of LBP would be global, and another that stated a September release in the UK for the game. I guess I would expect the game around then for the US. Might get a public beta during the summer though...I hope. :( Gametrailers and other sites have several videos on the game, which show off a few new features (the biggest probably being the "ability" to die and "enemies"). Can't believe the game hasn't even hit Alpha yet; I thought it might have reached that state a year ago based on the videos. Guess they're very ambitious...or they only have 5 people working on the game.

On the PSP-side, Sony did announce the ability to use Skype on the PSP, although it has to be one of the newer, slim models I believe (guess the extra flash memory comes into play). Sony also showed off the ability to copy a low-res version of a movie from a retail BR movie to the PSP using a PS3 (the PSP version is stored on the disc I believe). I like the idea, although I don't know how much support it will get (doubt it will really go too far unfortunately...maybe if other portable devices were supported).

    More stuff about MLB 08:

New interview, screens, trailer. There were 2 other trailers released on Sony's website a couple of days ago as well (can probably find them at Gametrailers or something).

I saw a rumor about Tivo and Sony working out a deal for a DVR add-on for the PS3 (for ~$100 IIRC), although it wouldn't be announced until E3. I'd have to go searching for the link, but with it just being a rumor, not sure there is much point. I guess the idea is that this would be the US-version of what Sony did in Europe a few months ago.

    Heavy Rain lives!

I don't care if it is just 2 images that don't really show much at all.

I think Namco-Bandai is doing something related to Soul Calibur IV today (I think at CES?). You should go over there and do your Street Fighter thing. :)

    not CES.

i'll post pics late tonight of the MGS3 PS-3. I didn't play it, I let the chowyuncola2010 guy play it. :D

they also demoed some 'create a game' thing at the sony booth for ps3. some side scroller thing you can create. it looked ok.

not too much console gaming except for accessories, CES is all about the PC gamer. There was that Johnny Fatality guy challenging people at Quake ( he was easily winning ) and they had some counterstrike teams playing too.

Also tons of UT3 multiplayer running on some crazy machines with a billion video cards.

Sorry about that, I saw people mentioning it in CES threads, so I thought it was being announced at CES.

The announcement was that Darth Vader and Yoda are going to be in Soul Calibur IV:

    More at the link.

I think you mean MGS4. Or at least, I hope you mean MGS4 and not MGS3. You can save yourself the effort if you only have pics from MGS3. :)

The other game was LittleBigPlanet, which Brando2101 and I were talking about.
