You're comparing apples to oranges. Admiring your dinger, striking a cocky-assed pose like Edmunds, or doing that stupid bunny-hop that Sosa does is bush league. Plain and simple. The things you describe are far worse than bush-league. And, btw, it's bush-league to hold your arm up after your three pointer. Turn your ass around and get back on D.
Agreed...That was ridiculous...The pitcher should have said something like "hey fatazz, keep moving"....
that ****twit took a curtain call, too; a st. louis tradition. i hope the baseball gods give him a bit of reggie sander medicine as payback. (btw, there are literally, like, 12 people in the stands right now in pittsburgh.)
I agree when you're talking about doing it after every HR or in a 9-2 game or something like that. But the two biggies - the one against Lidge and the one yesterday, I can understand. The Lidge one saved their season from elimination (for at least one more day) and the one yesterday may have just saved a season that was going down the tubes very fast. Those kinds of HRs, I have no problem with players enjoying the moment. Then again, I also subscribe to the Jose Lima philosophy. He always said that he'd continue to do his little celebrations after a strikeout. If you didn't want him to, don't strike out. And if you hit a HR, feel free to dance around the bases. There's nothing wrong with players enjoying the moment, IMO. But that assumes its a big moment - the stupid stares after meaningless homeruns is absurd. It should always be about the team.
Well, if the Astros lose, they can pull the "tree falling in the woods" routine and claim that the game was never played because nobody was there to see it, thus getting a rematch...
You won't ever see Berkman, Biggio, Huff, or any of our guys admiring our home runs, regardless of the magnitude. I mean look at Burke last year vs Atlanta, that was one of the biggest HR's in Astros history, yet even as a young guy who hadn't seen much playing time he didnt really start celebrating until he touched home plate. It's totally normal to hate Albert Pujols and his antics if you're an Astros fan- we despise Pujols the same way Cardinals fans despise Berkman. Just be happy we have one of the classiest organizations in the league and root for our guys hard.
Agreed. It's really easy to root for these guys. Great team chemistry and when the chips are down they go down hard fighting. Love my Astros!!!
Brewers have a great lineup... they can get to Marquis. Davis will be the main concern, as he is completely inconsistent (despite the Cards ability to get shut-down by no-name left-handers).
Gametime! C'mon Marquis do your usual inspiring performance, tonite. Lets go Crapholes! (choke, choke ... choke, choke, choke).
Al Hrabosky's smugness is shining thru big-time... Last night, after Pujols HR, "The Astros will feel that in Pittsburgh!" (win & win). Tonight... "playoff weather... feels good... ready to get the post season started." He's a homer among homers... drinks the kardinal kool-aid... can't second-guess the orgnaization with him around, because they do no wrong and are never beat.
I LOVE the fact that we've already won today, and the Cards have all the pressure on them... also allows me to enjoy this game without having to worry about our own.
