Hence the crux of my prediction. That's right, folks; it's going to be a fun 100 years of baseball in Houston.
just imagine how awesome the area around MMP will be in 100 years! i can't wait. i'll be 132, but i'll be loving it!
but the rockets will still have sucked because of the curse of hakeem olajuwon being traded? ok hope not.
Magic number down to 2 games after tonight, it looks like. Have to have the Cards lose 2 out of 3. This whole stretch has been close to a miracle ... might as well not stop now.
If we win out, they need to lose one to force the game with the Giants. And Carpetner's lost his last two starts.
Tomorrow they've gotta lose for sure. They play before us, so if they win you know it's going to deflate us for our game. Add to that Carpenter is pitching Sunday...which isn't a given but I think he'd come through if it was a game that meant the division. I also don't know how much faith I have in the Giants...who knows what kind of lineup they'd use and how much effort they'd put out on the last day of the season on a game that they probably didn't want to play in the first place.
Frankly, this whole run is unrealistic! I'm just going to with the famous yogi-ism ... it aint over, til its over. Until then, yeah I still believe. The Cards arent world beaters but, you couldnt expect them to continue choking, though it would've been nice. We'll see if trend or fluke tomorrow. No doubt though Bochy giving up that last game by serving a fat one to Phat Albert really blows. I mean two games before, they walked him and pitched to Rolen and surprise, Rolen strikes out. Dumb, just plain dumb. Bochy's boneheadedness just gave up a game.
Cardinals are 2-1 since the induction of this thread. Get rid of this thread and we will make the playoffs.
That throw beat Mr. Pujols to the bag by about two feet. I hope this isn't the kind of umpiring we can look forward to all day.
Cards gotta lose today...it's gonna be pretty deflating for the Astros to play tonight if that doesn't happen. And while they are in a pretty bad rut, I wouldn't expect them to lose 2 in a row to the Brewers and Giants.
The good news is, in the inning I saw before FOX switched to the Phillies-Marlins game, Ben Sheets looked awfully Ben Sheets-like. On another note. Anyone else shocked that FOX found a way to bring the Red Sox into the playoffs, via that damn commercial?
Four K's for Sheets so far for Sheets through two innings. The only hit he's given up is a single to Pujols.
