Remember guys it wasn't but just three years ago that the Astros had the Brew Crew at MMP in a must win series to go to the playoffs and the Brewes kicked the snot out of the Astros winning 2 of 3 and knocking them out of the race on the last weekend of the season.

which also serves as a reminder that we are still the team that is relying on another team to lose, or our season's done...

Milwaukee wants to play spoiler, but its the Braves who are going into this series with revenge on their minds... its a little more personal for a team that lost to the Astros two years in a row and just failed to win a pennant for the first time in 15 years...

If the cards limp in, the NL playoffs become UNWATCHABLE. Not just for Astros fans, but for fans of baseball all around. Hopefully, LaRussa will come to terms with his team being awful, and call a press conference to announce the forfeit of the rest of the season.

****PLEASE, GODS OF BASEBALL...MAKE THIS HAPPEN**********

I personally still feel like it is the Astros that still owe the Braves. I still don't conisder the debt paid in full.

    Harrasment,

I am sorry for my dumb post. :( Maybe I should of quit? :p I am having computer problems. I was trying to make a joke but it was not funny. I just get so exited about the Houston Astros, Houston Rockets and Houston Texans and I post in a big hurry. this board does not have a spellcheck so I cant check my spelling on the board  I have my friend from the apartment next to me here today with me to check my spelling. Like I have said in my other post, I want to be a writer for the Houston Chronacle. I will not let mean guys like you and Buck Turdigson stop me! :p

It will never be reconciled. It is the new Yankees/Red Sox (with decades of history yet to be built). And, don't be fooled by the earliness of this newborn rivalry--*WE* are the "Yankees" in this deal!!

    DOWN WITH THE BRAVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I'll ask you again: how on earth could some "mean guy" on the Internet stop you??

Honestly--get serious about real writing (content flow, lucidity, clarity, grammar, etc.). Take some classes. You're either your own worst enemy or your greatest asset in this deal--but take an honest inventory and realize how far you have to go. You *have* to be able to spell without a "buddy next door" if you want to be a writer, for example. And that doesn't even address the very serious lucidity and coherence issues in all of your posts.

Just tell me you're still not yet in college, and it'll all be good--that means you have time to overcome this. Truthfully, if you're past college and still write like this you just need to go down to McDonald's and flip burgers.

msn, guys always try to discorage me. I am easily discoraged. I am 24, msn. I am starting class at UH Downtown soon. I was on disabiluty from Social Security until I am losing pounds. I was over 400 pounds! I am now 380 and dropping and will drop more. I also have a job now. I love Houston sports and as long as I love the Houston AStros Houston Texans and the Houston Rockets I can learn spelling in UH and write for the Houston Chronacle. I think I can bring 24 years of expirience to the Houston Chronacle.

Well its good that you have passion and a goal. You can't say that about most people (including myself who has no idea what I want to do after graduating) but getting into sports journalism is a tough road.

Take some writing and journalism classes, and always stay hungry. And as bad as the Chronicle can be, its still really really hard to jump straight into it. Normally you have to start with small town newspapers and work your way up. Sports Journalism is a hard hard road. I'm not trying to discourage you but you have to be realistic and grounded.

As much as I like the Astros...

How are "WE" the "Yankees" in this deal? Astros have never won anything.

Check your history. In the early, early beginnings of the historic rivalry that is Yankees/Red Sox, the Yankees had won *nothing*, and the Sox were the ones with the shining postseason record. Prior to the Yanks' first WS appearance in 1921, the Red Sox already had four WS titles.

26 world series titles later, it's an entirely different story :)

i don't think there's anything in all of sports i'd relish more than seeing the astros beat the yanks in the world series. i could happily die then!
