i am, but i'm in a grad school class so it's muted this is how to make night classes fun after a day of work..haha
Wow...... This is unbelievable. Forget Yankee mystique, we have Astro Mystique. Im remember in the 03 ALCS, when Aaron bleepin Boone hit the walkoff, he did the interview right on the field with FOX and he was at a loss for words. He was like, man this....this is stupid, this is ridiculous. What the Astros are on the virge of doing is just unfathomable. The things this team does are unreal. If the Pooholes' lose this one I think we will do it. Here we go Brewers....here we go.....
Oh, they're booing. Don't buy into their "holier than thou, best fans in america" routine... they're just as whiny/sour when things don't go their way. Frankly, I prefer the obnoxious NY and Boston fans... they keep it real, even if they're a little too rambunctious/emotional at times. Davis trying to give the game away... Preston Wilson isn't that good.
The Cards are getting blown out. Do we want this team representing our division? They don't deserve it. O.K. then, the Astros will step in and stand proud, they will "step up to the plate," "go for the gold," and take their place!
you're on to something here. this is the kind of thing that changes the personality of a franchise...something that fans identify with for a long, long time. compound that with the fact that this is our 3rd miracle comeback in a row...that starts to become the personality of the franchise...and that has staying power...particularly in baseball where history is sooooo emphasized.
Frankly, the Brewers look like an awesome baseball team now. Ah... the beauty of this WONDERFUL game.
Over the long term I've usually liked the Cards, but not the last few years. LaRussa is one of the main reasons. My gut has been against them for the last 5-6 years. The only time I felt it strong in my heart to support them was against the Sox in the World Series. I'm probably the only person in the world that is a fan of the Cubs, Cards, Stros and Reds. Don't ask why, but I liked the Stros (and Rockets) when I was a kid growing up in the Midwest.
Man i just woke up from my nap, the first thing i do is come online to check the scores, i scroll slowly down the list of games till i see the big 8-0 which is just crazy...of course they have scored as we speak but damn....this is awesome. I hope Milwaukee's wants to be in the record books as the team that helped in the collapse of the Cardinals. It's not over yet but lets keep it going. WOOHOOO PS. for someone earlier in the thread this is for you!
Plus the guys that are doing it are the future of this franchise...remember the stygma this team had back in the 90's and early 00's...the offense dissapeared in the playoffs....well we overcame that, turned the page, and this new crop of Astros players (with a few veterans to help us along the way) are helping this franchise to evolve.
8-1 ?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! GO STROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
seriously...amazing stuff....when i consider what an after-thought this franchise was i was growing up here and what they are today...just amazing. a lot of that is the ballpark the game experience, for sure. but the team has just put together a fantastic stretch of baseball for some years now.
All of this is a product of Roger Clemens, and has been for 3yrs. There is no way to underestimate what he has done for this organization, and the city. Houston is now a baseball town thru and thru. When he came here with his buddy Andy P, he brought us instant credibilty, instant respect and took the organization to another level.
