Most Cards fans I know (and I live too damn close to them) have LaGenius first by a mile. They blame him for everything in a trickle down manner, from playing Rolen to much (not realizing that he's just a fragile player) to keeping pitchers in too long (not realizing that their pen is poo). I am a big believe that LaGenius does more harm to their team than good but he does get a bit too much blame in my opinion.
Good god, the Cards cant even finish off a routine ground out. Tony Gwynn Jr. blows by em. 8-0 Brewers
We could be only 1/2 game out tonight...and to think if Pujols did not jack one last night, the Astros could have been LEADING the division....holy smokes. DD
Man, Standing ovation for the Brews! Way to come to play! As for STL, this has got to be the worst case scenario for them. We win, they're losing and using their poo pen by the 3rd. Disaster!
LaRussa gets a ton of blame... mainly because he always has good teams that come up short. But on the flip-side... he always has good teams, thus every single decision he makes is up for scrutiny (since most of them are made in meaningful situations). There's always flavors of the month like Joe Girardi and Ned Yost who look good (but are on mediocre teams), and they rarely get flack. Its also not just LaRussa... its the Larussa/Dave Duncan duo that has been together since Oakland. Some have questioned how they develop pitchers... turning hard throwers into control artists, and over-working guys with questionable arms/injry histories. LaRussa also essentially invented the modern-day closer, set-up man, and lefty-specialist... sometimes he's a victim of overuse of his own creation.
anyone watching this game?? are they booing in st. louis??? i know it's not their personality up there...but geez...
If the Cards blow their division lead and fall out of the playoffs, it will have to go down as the worst collapse EVER.
They are getting their arses kicked! The Mets are beating the Braves too and Pedro is out for the season for them. Things are looking up for us. Who would have thought that the Brewers would be playing like that?
