I'm sure he will in some situations, but he can't run on the first pitch of every at bat when he's on base... they'll learn to pitch out... it's not like they'd be afraid to pitch out to a pitcher. It was his first start and I'm sure he was jittery, he'll get into his groove and steal bases just fine. I was more upset with them not pinch hitting Lamb for Everett in the 9th and the lousy freaking umpire then anything.
It will also take some time for Taveras to learn the pitchers moves and times. He probably won't steal many bases at first, but it will pick up as the season goes on.
Marquis does nothing but live on that outside corner... Willy should look to go the other way (down the line) when he gets up to bat.
Yeah, real good. Now if only the team can back him up with some runs. Whoa, I didn't watch SC last night, I had no idea how terrible Smoltz first start was.
So close! Biggio is off to hella good start this year, 3 RBI's yesterday, a double today. Eat it haters.
I'm suprised they'd pitch to Bagwell w/ 1B open, and Morgan on deck. Maybe this will take some of the collective pressure off the batters, and they'll start producing now (especially Adam).
