I think Roy. O pitches 7 strong innings tonight for the win and Andy P. gets rocked on Wednesday. I don't see him going longer than 4 innings against that explosive Cardinals offense.

Win or lose, Tavaras and Scott NEED to get off to a good start. That will boost their confidence and will give Garner the basis for keeping them in there when they hit their first rough patch.

the more i think about it, the more i think Tavares is here to stay in CF. i think either scott or lane will be displaced when Berkman comes back.

we lose 5-2. roy gives up 4 through 7, then miceli flies in from japan and on his only pitch gives up the 5th run as jim edmonds almost hits the ball back to japan.

For some reason, I see the other happening (Taveras being sent down)... especially if they continue to bat him in the 8th spot. There's just no way he can significantly impact the game from that spot, and unless Biggio or Everett have an injury, he won't get to sniff the top of the lineup either.

Scott really has me intrigued right now... the guy just looks great at the plate, w/ his stance and swing.

For those in Austin (and other areas outside of Houston):

Don't forget that MLB extra innings is giving a free preview for the first week. Enjoy the game! :)

That's the feeling I get, too. What's scary is we traded Jeriome Robertson for 2/3 of our starting OF.

I think intriguing is the best way to describe Scott...when we first got him, he was seen as a high ceiling potential guy, but was starting to get too old to think he'd reach anywhere near his ceiling. He absolutely blew up in the 2nd half for Round Rock last year and then has a blistering spring.

Bold prediction: Luke Scott gets an extra base hit in his first at bat.

    3-2 Astros

I'll think about it. I won't edit them like 2K does, because....well.....I'm lazy.

FYI, starting w/ tommorow's game, Fox Sports SW becomes Fox Sports HOUSTON from the hours of 6pm - 3am.

Thus, they plan on replaying Astros games in the wee hours for those who miss them live (like they've been doing for the Rockets games).

Anyone in the Dallas-area know if the Astros games are available on MLB Extra Innings?!? I wanted to get order this package, but I have this fear that they'll black out the Astros due to territorial restrictions. When I talked to a guy at Direct TV, he said that the game will first be offered to the national networks (FOX or ESPN), then to the local carrier (FoxSportsSW), and if those two decline the game, it MIGHT be on MLB Extra Innings. I was wondering if anyone had ordered this (and other packages NFL or NBA) in Dallas and had problems getting the game you wanted to see (Astros, Rockets, Texans)?

Astros games will never be on MLB Extra Innings in Austin. We're considered to be part of their regional coverage...like how we're part of the Spurs coverage and can't get Rockets games.

Tonight's game is on Time Warner channel 23, which is UPN2. I'm guessing that is the channel they'll use when it's on 51 in Houston.
