I missed that AB. Did he bunt for a hit and just **** up?, bunt for a sac and do the same?, where was the 3B/1B? Curious.

No, on purpose sac bunt...it was purely a move to get the runners over.

Not exactly sure where the 3B/1B were lined up, but it seemed like Marwin's intention was to go down the first base line. Regardless, the defense knew he wanted to bunt, so no trickery in play there.

 

Amazing how Altuve is such a weak hitter with the bases loaded...he clearly changes his approach, not sure why when it clearly works against him.

Ouch... bases loaded, one out, our two best hitters. Weak pop up in the infield and struck out looking.

 

Unfortunately that 3-0 fastball on the outside was the best pitch he got to hit.

I don't understand why, when the shift is full blown for a LHB, that any and every hitter doesn't just drop a bunt down the 3B line until the defense respects it.
